If you're talking about the exp scene, I can safely assume that if you get enough skill, you will do fine.
Another context will run you into problems:
1) HNM: There are some HNMs that you just need lots of HP, and it doesn't matter if you're awesome at the Utsu, because when it comes to some HNMs, if you are fighting a lv85-90 HNM, the difference in basic stats matters little, but the time it takes the HNM to reduce your HP from full to 0 matters a lot.
If a Taru is tanking Tiamat, good luck... lol

ok i didnt read many of the posts so if i repeat something im sorry.
ok lets see here NIN um well if u think about it NINs are used as Tanks so if u dnt care about wat race id say it would be good to have a race that can take DMG between shadows. so id say Galka i kno ppl r gona be like wat about DD well Galkas r like next strongest after elvaans as for ACC just cuz Mithras have high dex n agi dsnt mean they rawk harder than any other race they lose the points in STR VIT etc these are all important, some may say u can easily get items that INC these things, well u can easily get items that INC dex n agi aswell infact they're r probably more eg Emperors n LLs Spike SH & Snips for acc u know w/e im sure there r good VIT n STR stuff too but this is not the point.
personally, if u want my opinion that is just merely trying to help^^, id say Galka im not biased in any way b/c im a hume but Galkas just have the HP n VIT that a good tank needs, good for solo to cuz ud still be tanking.
peace^^

I disagree with Mithras makeing BEST DDs, especially as thf. Mithras are more accurate then any other jobs but at end game accuracy isnt really needed for exp mobs. As for thfs go I mithras and elvaans are pretty much equal in exp parties. Elvaans also are great DDs tanks and decent mages.
For ninja. Evaison is good and /war would be good for almost anything. Agl helps with eva so mithra will get slightly more eva, but really i dont think race would matter much.

I like a hume nin and a mithra thf just because when it comes to nin i like that job to be nice and balanced because it is pretty much all around.

I agree there is really no best race for any job. It all depends on where you put your merits, what items you use and what other jobs you plan on leveling. Hume's are right in the middle, probably best choice if you are playing more than 1 or 2 jobs. Galka PLD are mp sponges for a whm unless the PLD is very good. Taru NIN will get one shot by any god/hnm, unless they are very good. Galka mages spend most their gear on +mp, taru mages spend most their gear on +stats and sometimes +hp so they dont get one shot by that random AoE.
It all depends on you and how you play.

ok, 1 im a mithra rng nin and thf, 2 i do 200+ on gods with rng and nin, 3 mithra dont need anything but empress pin and they are set on eva rest is DD gear, RNG go vit and AGI for slug dex and str for Sidewinder, thf add AGI rings and maybe some armor 36-50 rest atk+ gear, post 50 rings body pants and boots agi/dex rest DD gear acc is never a prob post 50 b/c of sushi, pre 50 use jacko's if you can only hit 1 in 4, any more and your fine most DD dont hit half of their attack if you add them up, Sniper rings never used them for anything jacko's gave me enough to hit/evade everything pre 50, post 55 with rng is all yellow curry if you cant do more then 1k a hit with Slug/Sidewinder you need to quit the game. and on hnm/gods i always go rng/nin since i have accidently tanked fafnir and Fenrir with rng at lvl 70

syztem (!empty($user->lang['WROTE'])) ? $user->lang['WROTE'] : ucwords(strtolower(str_replace('_', ' ', 'WROTE'))): i've never once had a good mithra tank in all my time of playing, the top tanks were taru paladin and galka nin. and i've been playing quite a while even at higher levels
The best tank by FAR was a hume PLD i had as a BLM in Bibiki bay, he was able to somehow hold hate from two, cout em TWO, Ancient Magic spells which were not resisted that were cast concescutively. But, he had amazing skill and I think was able to lv from 66-70 in one day, (I have seen multiple people recently who have been doing 60-70 or 65-70 in a week)

Galkas make very good NINs against mobs like Birds, and Bats and fast stuff. Slow mobs like crabs though - either Elvaan (melee DD for hate) or Taru (nuking for hate).
Also Taru NINs tend to be good, because if they're not they die so much they never get any levels and give up xD.

This post is hilarious, it's like a 'guide' i'd read 2 years ago about NIN before people knew the amount of things it can do... What race, galka for reasons, hahahaha this is crackin me up. The reasons for certain races I see aren't even correct for a lot of it, or people aren't listing the best features for a certain race.
Mithra is good for AGI, haha uhh how about Dex as Dex is one of the main modifiers for Jin (the primary NIN WS from when you get it to 75). AGI hardly means crap, especially at 75, VIT means nothing these Galka reasons are making me laugh a lot also.
Here is the thing, as you've seen, any race can do most any job very well, depends on the player and the gear. If you're super poor then yes it'd be a good idea to choose a race more ideal for the job. The most ideal races for NIN are Mithra and Elvaan. There are reasons for this. STR and DEX.
When you level you will need to keep hate, this is done with Weapon skills and attacks. You need to be able to do decent damage while leveling, you don't get gear to fully DD until 70s. STR and DEX are the modifiers for Blade: Jin, this is why 75 NIN's stock both. AGI isn't a very big deal in the least bit, it doesn't modify weapon skills, and you can't get an ample amount in the lower levels for it to make a difference in any peice of gear. This means that in a situation you could get AGI in a slot, there is an item that will benefit you more for that slot than placing AGI there.
My suggestions are, Elvaan or Mithra, Galka could be a decent third choice. While Hume is a whatever, it’s not as ideal as the others for this job. Taru can be mega fun, but lacking that much HP is a hinderance, not to mention you’ll lack STR and DEX and in the 70s will fall behind the others.
I have been playing for over 2 years as NIN on Mithra, I wouldn’t change my race for anything, I specifically created a new account as Mithra for my NIN as it is one of the 2 ideal races, especially for end game.
I am in the process of writing a very large NIN guide on my website. I will post it at a later date when I have completed more of it. Race, is not part of it, because really it's not a big deal what you choose.

yes, context is important
regular exp allows for more freedom of exploiting a race's strength.
as soon as you enter the HNM context, the role of the NIN narrows to "either you tank or make room for a DD"
