Alright something was wrong w/ my computer (Windows XP SP2) and I think I had a virus, I couldn't run any programs w/o right clicking and opening them and Microsoft AntiSpyware wouldn't run. I manually shut down my computer (b/c start then shutdown didnt work) and I did "Set to Last Good Known Setting" or something like that. And it started and froze at the blue screen that says Microsoft Windows XP. Any suggestions?

ouch..and now it wont start. run it again but in safemode and networking enabled so you can use the net(Well i forget if reg safemode lets you use the net). this way you should be able to run any antivirus you have. then run

http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp

that should fix any virus you have. worse comes to worse in saefmode you have to save your info and reformat =X

In safemode it goes black w/ some words in the corner then acts like it's starting up and goes to the screen w/ light blue in the middle and dark on the top and bottom. Same screen as b4 and it won't go past.

Should I try a system restore point?

If system restore doenst work.. try copying all ur programs you need to a CD and reimage your computer.. That is what I did when my computer got a backdoor and all this virus crap on my oold comp.. Trust me reimaging will run your computer smoother too...

it wont remove the virus but might actually allow him to start up. if you also read i said he should backup his files but both safemode and reg are not loading up

OoO I see, I guess that can be a problem.. Unless hes got stuff on there tats not usefull. So for backing up anything I guess going safemode would be best. I dont think there can be any other option..

on my sis comp its some shortcut like f2 to get into system restore while its booting up but then again its a factory PC nor custom built so its a bit diffrent. basicly you have to reformat and loose everything =\
