History of World of Warcraft : General Discussion

World of Warcraft, WOW launched in November 2004 as the fourth and most successful one in the warcraft series game. It is set in a fantasy world of Azeroth where gnomes , dwarves , elves , humans , orcs , undead and other monsters roam the virtual world . Players assume the roles of Warcraft heroes as they explore , adventure , and quest across a vast world . Thousands of players could interact within the same world, adventuring together or fighting against each other in epic battles, players will form friendships, forge alliances, and compete with enemies for power and glory.

The series of warcraft began in 1994 with the game: Orcs and Humans. Then the second one: Tides of Darkness launched in the next year. But Blizzard Entertainment did not publish the third one until 2002.It is Reign of Chaos. Only when the fourth one, world of warcraft came as an online multiplayer game, this attracted millions of players all over the world.

Before world of warcraft launched officially，because of vast fans of the series high expectations, Blizzard held a beta test in March 2004 and enjoyed great reviews. The first day’s sale up to 240,000 copies, when it is officially launched in November in North America, it made another record, the fastest selling online game in history. Consequent on is the global success, in February, world of warcraft launched in Europe, in China in June and other countries in the following. Wherever it went, there was a huge success.

And Blizzard expanded and updated the game all the time. They added sections and fixed problems. Such as the player versus player content in the form of two special battlegrounds Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch, was added in June 2005. And the expansion of the Burning Crusade was released in January 2007. The Wrath of the Lich King was released in November 2008.
