This site came up googling Silk Road. I was researching the game. I've downloaded the install file for it and a lot of other MMORPGs. There seem to be a lot of free ones these days. With all that, it seems like a much better option than buying a game and paying monthly fees. People who develope this are really cool.

I realize they all get paid by people buying superior accounts or special items, but this makes it the player's option, for when they really start enjoying a game.

I also played Tribes II a lot so I monitor the new Starsiege thing too.

One thing that is sad is, while I am able to download the install files, and I have room for them (on an external hard drive I bought, my drive sucks), my system is simply too old to run any of them. So I'm basically stockpiling them all at the moment for when I can save up enough to buy a new computer.

Man, even if my system was up to par, it's so littered with spyware or something, the kind of thing that hijacks your homepage and when you close IE, it still runs in the background taking up 200MB RAM. Weird !@#$%^&*...

Anyway, I guess I am looking for recommendations of free games, as well as demo games too. I realize a lot of paid games are here, not very interested. They are probably superior quality, but since things tend to phase in and out of popularity, I figure the monthly pay games will eventually depopulate when people stop wanting to pay. Whereas free will always have people, and new people.
