Although, I think I know why. I am wondering if the interop stuff works with a known dll that is registered. Since XU uses dynamic names when it loads, I think the .net plugins get confused looking for the xu dll that has been renamed to something else.?

Sorry Guys, Looks like it will happen later tonight instead of last night. Sorry about that, but found another bug I had to fix before I could release it.

WyvernX / Admin -
Well, I'm not sure what the problem is, but I have resorted to trying the following. I have created my own little app that allows .NET 'plugins' and it loads as a separate application before XU does. Now, I'm trying to make a 'bridge' plugin using VB6 that loads under XU and will call the routines running in the other workspace. I've pretty much given up on VB6 working here and I've decided to rewrite the 'bridge' in Managed C++. There are some pointer problems that just blows VB6's little mind.
The main things I'm running into is stability and with marshalling. In short - if this could be fixed with some sort of re-write on XU's part, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm fairly certain it has to do with Reflection. VB.NET and J#.NET and C#.NET all use Reflection to determine which call to process (and they all blow up). Managed C++ however works fine and it does NOT use Reflection. So if I can find a way to compile VB.NET / C#.NET using static linking I think it would fix the problems. Needless to say, I have not found out how to do this yet. I'm fairly certain it's a linker switch, but I can't find doco on it.

I agree. After this patch I am finishing up, I am going to devote some serious effort into solving the problem. Even if it is a hack by creating a bridge like you have done.

Here are the things tht I am going to do for L2. RealTime chat logger (if possible), Player x,y,z, target, health, Mob x,y,z, health, level. For starters. I have not really played l2 much, so I dont know if they even need a rt chat logger. But, hope to get started very shortly.
Oh, and of course the normal map/radar that I make.

Alright, I'm trying to package up the patch so I can post it. Should only be a couple of hours now before the beta 3.1 RC8 goes live.

Wyvern,
That would be awesome to be honest. I could write some pretty fantastic scripts with that information. The only thing missing would be loc which you can get from the /loc command, but L2 doesn't have chat logger, so that might be needed. I'm interested in where you are going to get the info from though, I'm gonna assume you must be getting it from game memory?
