Great Guide to Leveling a Elven Mage (1-16)! : Lineage 2 General Discussions

Mind you this requires great effort on your part, but its truely effective.

Levels 1 - 5
Read the guides, find the tabs, press Alt+K, and put your windstrike on your first tab, and your heal on your second. Then open up your action panel, Alt+C. Drag and drop standby/sit to one of your hotkeys as well as you'll need to do resting a lot throughout the game. Now, do the starter quest in order to get a world map, slap the world map on a hotkey, and make sure to equip all your newbie starter items. Once this is all done, the leveling begins.
~First, kill keltirs from levels 1 to about 3, then move on to grey wolves and red keltirs from levels 4 to 5.

Levels 5 and 6
Throughout level 5, kill mostly grey wolves, and maybe goblin raiders that can be found West of Elven Village(USE YOUR WORLD MAP!) You won't need to go directly to Elven Village yet, as you don't have gold enough for anything needed at the moment. Once you hit level 6, move onto goblin raiders and kaboo orcs, if you can't manage to kill these, then level off grey wolves.

Level 7
At level 7, you can go to the Elven Mage house in the village(the biggest structure in the town), and find Master Esrandell, she can teach you your upgraded, and new magic skills. Of course these cost SP(spell points), and some require you to buy books for the first level. Books can be found at Trader Herbien in the house next to the Southwest entrance/exit of Elven Village. Also found there is Trader Unoren who sells amulets/rings/ and other common accessories (including Spirit shot which we will get into later). Alright, now that you have new spells, you may be itching to get new equipment and you might have some gold by now!(whipee!) Alright, head around the outer ring pathway of Elven Village untill you find a house with the Symbol of a shield and sword swirving above its doors. This is the house where mage and fighter equipment are sold and bought. Buy the most basic equipment here for the moment that you can afford which is better than your apprentice clothes. You can buy a new wand later on, unless you have sufficient money right now. Now its time to get down and dirty, head out to goblin raiders and kaboo orcs once again. Now you should be really owning them in a couple shots no problem with Windstrike 2, and icebolt.(get icebolt first, then Windstrike 2 after). The reason for getting icebolt first is that it not only provides for means of escape by slowing enemies, Windstrike 2 is only a single point ahead of Windstrike 1 for power. So if you get icebolt 1, you get 2 spells instead of a VERY smally enhanced Windstrike. Although you want to upgrade windstrike ASAP, later levels it gets better! Kill goblin raiders and kaboo orcs for now, I suggest not trying to kill green dryads just yet.

Levels 8 - 10
Continue killing Goblin Raiders and Kaboo orcs West of Elven Village, and increasingly upgrading your items at the shops. From levels 1 to 10, it should of taken you no more than 1 day, 2 days maximum, if more your just being completely lazy (or reading my guides to much ) From levels 8 to 10, it should be fine for you to start moving onto killing Green Dryads and certainly Kaboo Orc Grunts, and Green Dryads. Alrighty, now that your level 10, and should have your upgraded items, and an apprentice wand atleast, you'll want to talk to Sentinel Whendeel. This quest will result in getting a Red Sunset Staff, which is an entirely huge upgrade from apprentice wand.He will give you a quest to kill a Chief Orc Uoph, Uoph is found near the Big Tree Icon West of Elven Village in some Domed Ruins. Careful, Uoph is level 11, but shouldn't be much of a problem as long as theres no other orcs around him. Once you kill him, return to Whendeel, and give him the drop from Uoph. Now he will ask you to kill Chief Kaboo Orc Rocco(The actual monster is named Roko), you can find Roko near Elven Fortress(USE YOUR MAP!!!), Go to elven fortress, then go to the beach's hugging Lake Iris directly next to Elven Fortress. There should be ruins here, and this is where Chief Orc Roko spawns, it may take awhile for him to spawn as players kill him randomly. Once you have killed him, return to Whendeel once again to be thanked, and get your Sunset Staff.

Levels 10 - 14
Levels 10 to 14, are spent in the area you found Chief Orc Roko, you'll want to kill Kaboo Orc Fighters, Kaboo Orc Fighter Sub Leaders, and Spore Fungus constantly there. Keep doing this straight through to level 12, once you are level 12 you can do the Sentinel Staff quest. Return to Elven Village, and talk to Sentinel Knight Berrytross, he's outside the Master Mage building in Elven Village in the front of it. Once you talk to him, he will ask you to deliver a letter to Mage Corbendell(sp?), Corbendell can be found right inside the building behind him. Once you give him Berrytross' letter, he will ask you to find him 10 Dryad Tears. Now, Dryad tears ARE NOT REPEAT ARE NOT *100%* drop chance, it took me personally about 1 hour to get all 10 dryad tears. Now you might be asking where can I find dryad's in such groups? Easily! You know where you've been hunting this entire time? Well just up the hill SouthWest of the ruins you find Chief Roko in, there is a Dryad spawning ground. Dryads and Dryad Ribes spawn here, and by level 12, you should beable to take Dryads and Dryad Ribes with a little effort. You just need to icebolt them, then run, then windstrike them endlessly untill they die. Wash, rinse, repeat, untill you have all 10 tears. This will also be very nice experience, as Dryad Ribes are 411 exp, and 16 Sp each, and regular Dryad's are 381exp and 12SP each. Once you have all 10 tears, return to Elven village(hopefully level 13 by now ) and talk to Corbendell, he will ask you to deliver his 5 potions to the Sentinel Knights around the village. Talk to Berrytross for a list of the knights you need to give the potions. Then go to *his* immediate left for the first knight, and talk to the sentinels and EACH entrance/exit for Elven Village, and voila you are done. Go back one more time to Corbendell and he will congradulate you and give you your Sentinel Staff. Now go back to the dryad's, and level there from 13 to 14 .

Levels 14 - 16
Once you hit 14, your going to be taking another trip back to Elven Village in order to get your new set of spells, you should have saved up around 3K - 4K SP now, if you didn't waste your Sp on Might or Cure Posion, and now you'll want to train Windstrike 4 and 5, and icebolt 3 and 4 immediately. Once you have these, back to hunting the same spawn as you have been, with Dryad's. If you have a decent level fighter to group with, you may want to try out EF Skeleton rooms by level 15. But IMHO, solo 1-20 is the best exp. From 14-16 you'll just want to hunt this spot like crazy, and save up for a Cedar Staff if you can. Once you get a Cedar Staff you can use Spiritshot for attack bonus, which will really aid you in hunting later on.


And thats the entire guide from 1 to 16, with an Elven Mage, I'm pretty sure I spelled Corbendell's name wrong, and will fix that once I next get ingame. Anyways, Critique would be appreciated, and anything you might have to add .
