NCSoft responded by doing a little "Spamming" of their own! This is what Head GM Spam had to say:

Hear ye, Hear ye.

The end is NOT nye! Yes there were some accounts that ended up spamming people over the weekend. Since this is the very first time this has happened in 3 years, I think this was handled pretty well. Yes, many of you had to endure your in-box being filled with trash, but honestly I think that was real bad advertising on the spammers part. It is sort of like trying to sling drugs in a police department lobby.

Please ask yourself why this has happend now. It is because we have been more effective in-game at removing trial account spammers.

So everyone be calm, Hunk_GKPlayer does not have the power to topple the monster that is L2.

Currently we are working on a way to prevent or minimize spammers on the forums.
