2. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WEAKNESSES
Also in that little info section of the raid boss it will show some weaknesses, monster characteristics, and racial attributes; understand what these mean.
Don’t take Spellsingers to a raid that’s weak to fire. I mean you can, but a sorc will really do better. A word of caution though: when a boss is weak to one thing, he resists another. In a MAJOR way.
Water spirit Lian is a good example; he is weak to fire, but almost immune to water. The trouble is, he also AOE roots. So make sure your nukers don’t draw aggro. How? Simple. Bring SH if you’re going to be a newb and take all nukers to your raid. SH has wind based attacks, so lian takes average damage. So long as your tank (which at this boss should be a BD) can hit hard and fast to keep up, lian won’t cast root once in your whole raid.
These are just my own bits of knowledge, and I know for certain some newb tard is going to flame me for saying you don’t need nukers to take down a boss.
If you do, you don’t know your boss nearly as well as you should
