To all you veteran mmorpg fans where does this game rate at? I liked galaxies, I dislike FFXI, and I did like Ultima for a while, but how about this? This game seems...lacking, yet addictive. I'm waiting for World of WarCraft. What do you guys think?

Well I played UO/AO/D2/EQ/SWG/SB/DAoC/L2. IMHO for total game play with quests/crafting/pvp(rvr)/graphics(si/toa)/area/and over all customer support.. this includes. website info / toon/crafter listings / accurate downtimes fast responses for downtime / test servers/test server notes / patch notes / quick fixes..

DAoC takes the cake.. with new End Game free expansion, that I'm trying on test. At least a new spark is given.

But L2 has some promising features.. that if you can hold out for (C1 not in yet) and don’t mind the grind (lack of overall area to hunt.. more in C1) I'm truly holding out complete judgement till its True/advertised content gets in game... GUILD WARS & SEIGE.....Pretty Graphics

At least you can kill those who piss you off...(if you can) so red and loose some exp.. I'm 70/11

on a 1-5
1. quests = 2 Can always seem to find a quest for my lvl range but they lack a true story usually just kill this and return.. more like kill tasks.. (all though the kill task quest for Class progression has a larger story line (I don’t mind a quest that takes hours to complete due to STEPS not just cuz it take that long to get 50skulls from 200zombies it took to kill)

2. Graphics = 5 one of the best. I love the quick load in game / Hardly lag except on rare over pop areas (places you would expect some)

2 1/2 mob graphics = 3 all though the graphics are great... I don’t like how I’ve seen 10+ or so eyeball mobs all the same color.. can you at least change the color on a mob that looks the same with just a different name?

3. Lvl'n.. = 4 I don’t mind the grind if I wanted to be 60-70+ from lvl1 later this afternoon I'd play more SB (needs more area)

4. PvP = 2 Atm with all the exploits to pvp. (I've been killed at least 4 times with the PK'r not even turning purple much less red once he killed me while I watched) Yea it’s open pvp on all.. but the penalty is a little harsh IMHO. Not just due to going red and dropping items.. but due to Not being able to Train, Port, Or SHOP anywhere.. The dropping items and exp loss just tops the cake.

5. Crafting = 1 I say this DUE TO if you want an item crafted there is NO WAY TO GET IT DONE SECURELY. Since you can't tell 1st off even if the dwarf is a crafter or scavenger you must take their word for it. Plus myself I’m not a huge fan of having to farm for 90% of the material needed to make an item. (everything but gemstones)

6. Character Customization = 1 After playing SWG how can the making of toons ever be equaled. (SWG from toon creation to in game stat adjustments or ability to totally respec) Every toon of same class has the same spells / can all get the same spells. Even the classes within other races are just to similar for me (they have changed some names here).. but the human dual wielder / DE dual wielder. I understand a tank is a tank a caster is a caster will be close… but even at 40plus its similar spells just diff type… AoE fire or AoE Wind or Water. I like varity even within a class if you’re a DE Spellhowler and you spec AoE then your not a DE Spellhowler who is Poison spec’d… That’s just MHO.

7. Guilds = 4 I like how guild progress. (perhaps this will hinder small guilds too much not sure yet) How you can see guildmates status. Like the personal crests. Alliances once I get to see them in action (I just like the feature)

8. Pets = 3 atm I'm really lacking here.. but wolf pet helps you beat the trade/grouped loot exploit.. So that’s nice. Extra space/weight is a plus. Can't say much about caster summons / dragons / cubix.. I think that perhaps the cost of pet upkeep maybe a little much when you compare cost to lvl at which you can first get pets.
