Welcome to my guide to becoming a successful, level 15, dagger wielding Elf. Now most people try for a nice intro, explaining why the class you’re about to use 0wnz, but I suck at intros, so lets get right to it. Please note: Most quest descriptions are based off the descriptions of the Warcry website, so any name mistakes, !@#$%^&* at them for it

First things first, the map quest. When you first start out, make sure to read all the annoying little tutorial boxes. It can be boring, but you need them. Talk to the correct NPC, and head off to kill keltirs. The game may say Nephytires or something similar, but you’ll want the Keltirs. Since your going to be a dagger specialist, you should equip this now. You’ll want to kill these till at least level three, although I prefer to stick it out till five. Return to the NPC that gave you the quest, and turn in the fangs. Now talk to Nerupa (ugly spider like humanoid) and receive your map. This is where you’ll start using the hot bar, the thing on the right side of your screen. Now, this is more personal preference than anything, but I like to place the map as the very last item. Just drag and drop it on there. You’ll be using your map often, and ill usually be giving just the general direction and map based landmarks, so try not to let anything happen to it. For the fifth slot, I place the pick up actions. The pick up is important, as many time you wont notice small things like antidotes drop, so you wont be able to Point and Click it. By pressing the pick up button, you grab the nearest items. It only does one items at a time, so be sure to click it a few times. In your first item slot, place your dagger. You’ll be using this for a quick switch option later.

Now, you’ll want to talk to Nerupa again, and choose the “Quest” option. Read through what she says, it’s pretty self-explanatory. Head up to the town, and into the weapon shop. Talk to Trader Unoren, and hell give you the run around and send you to someone else. Walk over to the Magic shop, and talk to Creamees. Same deal as before, shell send you to someone else. To the warehouse! Talk to Juria, and shell give you the leaf. Finally return to Nerupa, and receive your reward, a lesser healing potion.

Head back to town, and find the NPC Arujien, and listen to his sap story. Head over to the gatekeeper, Mintiel, and shell tell you to talk to Herbtien, in the Magic shop. Return to Arujien. You have a choice now. If you tell him to forget about Greenis, you will receive 450 adena. If you say Greenis is interested, you will, after talking to greenis for him, receive five healing potions. This is my preferred route, as the potions will really help if you get in trouble. If you decide to go this potion route, head to the big building in town, with the two sets of stairs on each side. This is going to an important building to you, as this is where you’ll start training skills. Talk to greenis, and then head back to Arujian.

Now its time to check on both your adena count, and your SP. You’ll want to save about 1k adena, and at least 180SP. Whether you have enough SP or not, get as many levels of Power Shot as you can. You’re going to eventually become a full time dagger user, but for now, were going to alternate with bows. That’s where the Adena comes in. Head down to the weapon shop and grab the cheapest bow they have. If you cant afford it, not a problem. Well get it soon. If you can, buy 200 wood arrows, and wood arrows only. Put the bow as your number three on the hot bar, and power shot as number four. Now, whenever you click on the bow, it’ll equip/unequip it. If you click on the dagger, it’ll auto switch from bow to dagger. Same goes for clicking the bow. Head out the ramp from where the Private Stores are, and you’ll see on your right Pixy murika. Talk to her and do her repeatable quest. Do it two or three times, just make sure you get to at least level four by then. Sell everything she gives you at the store, and, if you didn’t before, buy the bow and arrows. Do not spend money on anything but arrows. You’re going to need to save it all.

Find Bri Mec Tran, He is in the ruins northwest of the Elven Village, leave out the southwest village exit and head northwest immediately. Before you leave though, speak to Sentinel Reyjien at the top of the SW exit. Now, head out to the fields and kill Orcs and Goblins. Keep checking your SP, and when you hit 180, head to town and buy mortal blow 1-3. When fighting the monsters, the strategy you’ll want to use is this: Equip the bow, and Power Shot the creature. If it’s far enough away, pop one or two arrows in it. Switch to your dagger and finish it off. Many people will disagree here, and say kite, but you’re going to have to get used to taking a few hits sooner or later, so why not do it now? If you’re losing the fight, then switch back to bow, and run. You’re the fastest class in the game; use it to your advantage. Run, turn, shoot, and repeat. Do these quests till you hit level eight, and then cash in with each NPC. Now, you should have a good deal of money by now. Start looking for a wood set, the B.Plate, Gaiters, and helmet. These will run you about 7-8k for the plate, 4-5k for the gaiters. I’ve yet to see the helmet for sale from players, so you should just grab it from the store. The rest always get from other players. Keep killing and doing those quests to get the set.

Now, here comes the repetition. Head over to the magic shop and grab the Spore quest from Herbtien. Now, move down to the tree in the center of town, and talk to Andellria. These quests are close together, so it’s easy to do them at the same time. I should note here that Escape scrolls are extremely important. Always have one. ALWAYS. Grab one in the magic shop. If anything happens, you’ll be using this to save yourself, or to cut down on travel time for the lazy. Head out the exit by the private stores and follow the path over the first bridge. In this area you’ll find green dryads, Kaboo Orc fighters (aggro) and Spores. Stay away from the Orcs; they’ll attack you without provocation. Just kill spores, and get the ten fungus sacs. Head back to the path and keep following it. Eventually, you’ll cross a second bridge. Keep a lookout to the right, and you’ll eventually see a small structure, with a domes top and open sides. Talk to the NPC, and head back to town. Return the items to their NPC, get the spore quest again, and keep killing. Do this over and over till level 10. I also recommend getting the Orc quest before you go, as they will inevitably attack you, and some free adena is always nice. At level ten, its time for new skills. Grab one level of Power shot only; level four is where we will stop training. Keep killing spores until you can max out Mortal Blow. Here’s where your killing strategy will change. Find a spore, and stand behind it. Mortal blow works most often from behind. Mortal blow the mob, and then whack it for the rest. Collect even more spores till you have about 10k, and head to town. You’re looking for someone selling a Doomed Dagger. If, by some chance you have about 40-45k, head straight up to the Dirk weapon instead.

Finally, we get a break from spores. Talk to Sentinel Kendell at the southeastern exit, and hell give you a quest. This is exactly what they say over at the Warcry site:

2. Find and kill the assigned chief and retrieve the Kaboo Chief Torc1:
- #1 Kaboo Chief Uoph. Near /loc 21000,41000. Southwest exit to crossing, then north and east.
- #2 Kaboo Chief Kracha. Near /loc 34000,62000. Southwest exit and head south.
- #3 Kaboo Chief Batoh. Near /loc 29000,79000. Near the Elf dungeon.
- #4 Kaboo Chief Tanukia. Near /loc 21000,57000. Southwest exit to crossroads, look southwest.
3. Return to Sentinel Kendell with the torc1. He will assign you another chief to kill.
4. Find and kill the assigned chief and retrieve the Kaboo Chief Torc2:
- #5 Kaboo Chief Turel. Near /loc 40000,69000. Southwest exit, head due south and cross the river.
- #6 Kaboo Chief Roko. Near /loc 33000,79000. West of the lake, east of Elven Dungeon.
- #7 Kaboo Chief Kamut. Near /loc 46000,89000. Southeast exit, all the way around the lake to south side.
- #8 Kaboo Chief Murika. Near /loc 57000,77000. Southeast exit, cross 2 bridges, 2nd ruins on left.
5. Return to Sentinel Kendell with the torc2.

Now, don’t get too excited about this weapon, as were selling it. Check around to see what it’s going for in town. If you’re level ten, go back to killing spores till level eleven, if you’re already eleven, talk to Sentinel Stardyen at the southwest exit, and Head to the Elven ruins, they’re right next to the Fungus spot.

In the first room, find a corner, and keep killing the spawns that are there. When you get all the poems, head back to the NPC, and get the shirt. Sell it for whatever the going town price is, and head back to the spores. I know that it’s boring, but it’s really the best strategy at this point. Keep looking at you’re SP, and when you have enough, buy Aura of Defense, followed by Armor Mastery. Max Armor Mastery, then Weapon. If you don’t have enough SP, don’t worry, just keep on killing.

Once you hit level 12, you’re going to get another break from Spores. Talk to Sentinel Knight Alberryus, he is out in front of the main building, where the trainers are. Fight Dryads and Dryad Ribes. Green Dryads will not drop the item. They are add on mobs, so be careful. They are tough, and can kill you fairly easy. You can find then by following the southwest village exit just past the crossroads on the left, or out the southeast exit and across a couple bridges. Get the ten tears, and return to the NPC. Take the sword, and sell it.

Next quest is amazingly not spores! Talk with Hierarch Asterios in the Elven Village main building, and hunt Plague Zombies. You’ll find those at the head of the river. Go to the northwest, and you’ll see a small river. You’ll have to go all the way to the end of it, and kill zombies. You’ll get one sample of dust. Head back to the village, and return it to the NPC. Hell send you back out for five more samples. Get them, return, and claim your reward. You can sell the ring in store, or keep it. I usually sell it.

At this point, you have a choice. You can upgrade armor now, or save for a new weapon. The wood set gives you a nice bonus to HP, while upgrading only adds a small bit to defense. If you choose to upgrade armor, look for bone. If you save for a weapon, you’ll want to get the Throw Knife.

If you haven’t already, max out all of your Masteries and Attack Aura. Do not touch Power Shot or Power Strike.

At this point, you can begin to move into the Elven Fortress, and fight harder mobs. You can continue solo at this point, but I find it easier to group and run the dungeon. Running the dungeons with a good group can send you to level 15 in no time. If you slo, stick with skeletons, but beware of the archers, the closed space makes it very easy to get a train of mobs, and archers just make it worse.

I was only level seventeen at the time of the guide, im finishing it up now to level twenty, and will post it when its done. Thanks for the comment :D

As for the warcry comment, I said it was based of the Warcry quest guides as thats where I got my start learning these quests. Most of the actual quest descriptions are just based off of what I did on my own, from looking at the map. I mention them more because its easier to copy/paste the names they have written than slow my PC down by Alt+tabbing the game constantly. The only thing actually taken from them is the locations of the Orc chiefs because theyve got /loc aleady written. Its simply more effective and helpful to someone reading it. Could I have done it on my own? Of course, but as I said, its more effective this way. Either way, gave them total credit for that.

Part two:

At this point, you’re strong enough to do another quest with no real worry. Talk to Trader Unoren over in the weapon shop, and get his quest. Head back to the EF with your group, and start farming skeletons of any type. I say wait till now, so that you can solo if need be. I found it very hard to solo any lower than 14. The add on mobs make it far too difficult. You should have farmed skeletons extensively already, so this should be fairly easy for you. Once you’ve collected the fragments, venture down deeper into the dungeon, and start to farm Mist Terrors. You should have experience with these as well. The drops on them are an annoyance, as everyone I’m my group had trouble getting them. I found it to be a bit less rare solo. I do not recommend trying it solo them however, as these guys are tough. Just stick it out, enjoy the XP and loot, and collect your four skulls. Return to the NPC, and receive your reward. Some keep the Shield and use it, but I’ve found that the adena gained is much more useful. I tried for a very long time to sell this in a private store, before finally giving up and selling to the trader. You might have better luck, but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t sell.

Head back into the EF, and continue to farm whatever mobs your group is comfortable with. All groups are different, so try to choose something that all of you can handle. Once you’ve reached level 16/17, you can start a new quest. Keep a close eye on the private stores for a Throw knife if you do not already have one. If you do, save your money for later Armor upgrades.

Talk to Alshupes, he’s going to be In front of the main building, in the sunken in area with the tree. If you were facing the front of the building, he is on the left side of it. Time to hunt spiders. It’s a repeatable quest, but I wouldn’t use it as money making venture. If you’re in need of some extra cash, spore quest. By now, you should have no downtime at all facing spores, so the money should keep rolling in. To find the spiders, head out of town as if you were going for spores. When you reach the crossroad, continue east instead of south. There will be two easy ways to know you’re there. The big stone structures, and the huge spiders. Be careful in this area, as hook spiders are the only non-agro mob here, and more than two spiders is something you do not want to happen. Watch for Orcs, A lot of time you wont even see them because of the spiders, and not being on your guard WILL get you killed. Get your eight legs, return, repeat. Keep doing this till at least level eighteen. I don’t find the risks worth it beyond eighteen, but some people swear by the spider. If you do not like the spiders, Liriens are a great way to level, and once you hit eighteen, you’ll be able to do a quest with them. The problem with Lireins is that they’re a stronger mob than the spiders, so I would recommend waiting. Figure out what works best for you and stick to it.

I mentioned a Lirein quest, but unless you’re really eager to fight them, I don’t recommend even bothering with this quest. The cash/xp payout just didn’t hold against the next quest. If you’re interested, check out Warcry, but for the purpose of this guide, well be hunting Wererats. Talk to Master Ellenia, who’s going to be in the Main building. Head to the EF, preferably with a group, and begin to hunt wererats. Keep grabbing drops from the rats and leveling. I’ve seen people farming rats for days, its great money. You should keep saving money, unless someone in town is selling a Sword Breaker. Don’t worry about armor, if you’re having trouble, then stick to Bone armor, but if you’re doing alright with the wood, then leave it at that.

Skill wise, you should max out MB first, followed by Elemental Heal. Your masteries should come last. Do these when you get the spare SP. The order doesn’t matter as much now as it does in the earlier levels. From here on, you should be pulling in enough SP to get these all fairly fast. Elemental heal and MB could easily be alternated between. The best judge is really how you’ve been doing so far. Are you not dealing enough initial damage? Grab MB first. Taking more damage than you’d like? Grab EH.

Do not stop farming rats until at least level nineteen. I continued till I was nearly twenty, the money was good, didn’t see a reason to stop. You should know by now that some things in this game can take a long time. I’ve had multiple friends complain about how long it takes to do this, some worrying if it should take that long. The grind can be extremely slow, so don’t worry if it seems like you’re getting nowhere. Now that your level twenty, its time for your first class transfer, to the Scout class.
