err... I've levelled abjuration from 22 to 87 before changing a level overnight; hate to be the bearer of bad news, but increasing both conjuration and abjuration skills for sorcerer has no effect on the stats of your shield spell nor ring spell. They remain static (except for the ring, it will increase the intelligence/wisdom modifiers by +1 each time the character actually gains 1 or 2 levels, thus completely unrelated to your skill rating). However, I did notice a moderate increase in the effectiveness of the invisibility spell as my abjuration increased. Also, I waited for the tooltip display to appear when mouse cursor was held over every skill and the tooltip says nothing about strengthening spells, instead it says this, for example: "Evocation is at 90/90, tooltip says that when the skill is at 90/90, it gives me a 95% chance to hit any creature of lv. 9" --Now, keep in mind that this obviously does NOT take into consideration the resists/defense mods of the npc; thus, increasing your skills with everything merely is related to base "to hit" chances. This explains why the invisibility skill works better with a higher abjuration... considering that it went from 22 to 87 today, and the skill increases causes its "to-hit" chance to increase. Thus, sure, I guess you can say it increases the potency of such a spell, but weapon skills and everything else, sorry.
