VG Bots - Ideal places for Adventurer macroing : Vanguard Confirmed Bots / Macros / Hacks

Lets make a list of leveling places suited to using scripts for people.

Places that are well suited to letting scripts handle for long periods of time are mainly the following:

- Non social mobs
- Large quantity or fast spawnrate or both, so you don't run out
- Non aggro (nice bonus even if its not stricly nessecary, as its a lot easier to not screw up if you don't have to worry about accidental aggro from the movement routines in your script)
- Mobs clumped together. If they are aggro this is even more important. In a totallt ideal spawn you shouldnt have to move much if at all to get new targets as this increases the change of accidental aggro. For non aggros its less important since you can usually just place yourself in the middle of the spawn and effectively double your no-move range.
- Static spawn (ideal) or semi-static, ie. they roam a small area.

So, to start off I will mention a few places. I hope others will make more suggestions:

- Varlons tower near 3 rivers (Thestra).
if you go up on the rock behind his tower there are static spawns. This lets you be 100% safe from accidental aggro as long as you place yourself correctly. Be aware of a single patrolling stone soldier who follows a predictable path. They are aggro but not social, level 12-14 3dots.

- Themnvars shield, below the damn (Thestra, near tursh)
Below themvars shield are TON of little stone slimes. all level 12 2 dots, non aggro non social. If you dont have water breathing you can still reach a lot of them from the shore on either side. If you do have water breathing you have a virtually infinite numbe availiable from the middle of the river bottom. Be aware of a single "hero" spawn that spawns rarely and is aggro. This might cause you to wipe every few hours or so unless you take preventive measures.

- Rootlings circle, for the Barsagal quest, near 3 rivers.
Once inside the protective circle made by the root-setinels you have a open area with virtually endless superfast spawning rootlings to kill. they are all level 14 2 dot non aggro, non social. The only thng you need to take into account is that they have an attack that can nudge you around, so uness you take preventive measures, this can eventually push your character away from his starting position.

- Greenback spiders, directly north of silverlake (thestra)
This is a large area with wantdering spiders, but its so plentiful that just placing yourself in the middle and doing a "search in all directions for targets" routine nets you enough to keep you busy nearly 100% of the time. Most are level 18 3dot, and a few are 19 3dot. they are all non aggro and non social.

Now I would like some inout from the rest of the community. I am still having a somewhat hard time finding a good spawn for leveling 23 and up. please consider the "requirements" above and see if you know any places that might fit, or share your personal experience with places you kno works well. Remember. Non social is probably the MOST important. If you have non social mobs grouped together you can usually work around the rest, but non kos is a huge bonus ;)

I hope for lots of good input.

Noone has any input? I'm disappointed :/

Here is a new one from me then:

- Strand snappers on the strand of the ancients (Qualia)
Several spawns down along the beach. some are purely 25 2dot, some are mixed 25 2dot and 26 2dot. All are non agressive and non social. Huuuge amounts, though somewhat spaced out. Reasonably good respawn rate. As far as I an tell there are no interfering factors to cause a wipe unless your script fails in itself.

I'm still looking for good higher level places and a place wiht other mobs at around 25, but with 3 or 4 dots. Grinding on 2dots takes a lot of time :(

Come on people, everyone here who has planyed the game should remember atleast ONE place like this, no? I'm sure there are hundreds of suitable places of all level ranges. Make them known so we can make use of them!

I doubt your going to get many replies on this. Locations are always a priceless bit of information that noone wants to share.

I found a decent place yesterday that i thought would be good..
on Khal ne corner.. se of skawla rock.. west of the little outpost (cant remember the name) there is a camp with some golem type guys.. quest is for 10 smashers i believe, they are around lvl 23 3dot

They do agro but are not social.

South from Three Rivers, along the path there is a spot with a lot of non aggro boars and snakes. The mobs are around level 22 2 dots.

Vampire hunter village in Misthaven Crossing has potential. A bunch of level 20-22 3 dot villagers with a pretty fast respawn. Only problem is going to be all of the obstacles (fences, debris, empty houses). I'm sure if you have some good logic checking on your pathing, it wouldn't be that hard. It's a little faster than Strand Snappers at 26 (except the level 20's give no experience, boo), but more dangerous (those level 22 3 dot seem to be pretty mean when they get a few lucky hits in). The guards don't even bother you, they just keep walking as if it's a normal affair for you to be squishing all of the villagers (related to a Hilsbury Manor quest to get a bat illusion ability).

I haven't found anything decent for levels 28-34 (as a rogue anyway, I'm limited to 2 dot to kill safely). Any suggestions?

Edit (04/29) -- Near NT, there is a windmill area, with a large cliff. Tons of spiders and giant elk for level 28-30 macroing. The spiders are social, but it's pretty rare in my experience to get their paths overlapping. In the entire time I spent there I only came back to my PC dead twice. I think the best place here is actually ontop of the hill, because a lot of players do not wander up there (the only bummer of it is there are only about 5 spawns in total ontop of the hill there -- so you're left walking around your waypoints 2+ passes before you get a repop). A more robust path down the hill in the forest area would probably net you 20-30 mobs if no one was around. More if you extended your pathing to include parts of the cliffs where the 1 dot lizards, and 2 dot birds are.

Still looking for a better place than frogs near southwatch, too many players hang around this Fen Lake area.

The lake South of Southwatch. These hoppers are lvl 34-35. This is also a quest spot, but has a very good spawn of hoppers, that are all non-aggressive. Just make a macro walking the shoreline in a circle. Since this is a quest area for southwatch, you will probally get bothered by other players, but the only real good place I know to level from 32-35.

I found an alternative place to Fen Lake (frogs near southwatch) with level 33-34 mobs -- more turtles along the river shore southwest of New Targ, in the Spires Keep chunk. Just jump off the docks and swim southwest until you hit land, then swim a few chunks down shore. Occasionaly an ant will wander down near the beach areas with turtles, but I haven't found it to be that big of a problem. Might want to put some log parses in your macro to look for the drowning text, and take appropriate action, because a lot of the turtles like to go for a bit of a swim.

There are level 35-36 frogs in various ponds towards the cliff sides, but they're not really optimal for time spent vs. experience gained. A lot of times, the frogs will re-pop as level 8 to 25 1 dot dragonflies, so you'll end up with 10+ circles of nothing but bugs. AND ants tend to go to the ponds to take a sip of water (and usually with one or more friends pathing close by to get you into trouble - damned social bugs)

Also for earlier levels, up on the cliff near the entrance to the spires keep undead castle, on the opposing side of the river; there are a bunch of non-aggro/non-social level 30 lizards. A few level 30 birds path through this area, but if you set up a macro to kill the birds first ... you'd have a wonderful place to grind to 32. Easiest way to get there is to just walk straight west from NT along the cliff line, it puts you on the right side of the river and everything.

Anyone want to share some more level 36+ places?

Any other ideas for lvl 18 grinding? I tried the lvl 18 3dot spiders and my DRK just can't handle those without me interfering every fight.

The whole idea behind botting is that there should be no risk to you. Killing stuff that is easy, even if it's lower level than what you would normally grind on, is what you're going for. Maybe the xp won't add up as fast as you like, but it's still xp while you're afk. AFK xp = Good XP.

I may be out of line here, but I paid money for premium access for access to a working bot, and I can't seem to find a single good bot to craft or hunt. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
