Anyone currently playing a bard knows the annoying bug that was added in with the last patch that causes songs to drop after you cross a chunk link. Here's a way to take that annoyance and turn it into a *huge* advantage.

1) Make a normal song - Any song, just balance out the rests like you normally would

2) Make 3 or 4 other songs that combine the best of your song components, don't worry about the energy cost

(i.e. a song with all of the healing components, one with all the energy regen, one with 3 of the fire resist / damage shield, one with 3 of the the cold resist / damage shield, etc).

3) Stand near a chunk line and start playing your normal song.

4) Cross the chunk link and click a hotkey to start playing one of the other songs -- you'll notice that, as long as you only click it once, the game still shows as you playing your normal song.

5) Repeat crossing the chunk line and clicking the hotkey for each of the maxxed out songs you created.

6) Cross the chunk line one more time and click the normal song's hotkey again.

7) Enjoy having the benefits of all of the maxxed out songs as well as your normal song at the cost of just your normal song.

*** IMPORTANT NOTES ***

Each time you cross a chunk line again, single click the hotkey for your base (normal) song.

Swapping out weapons will cause all of the "stacked" songs to halt.

Easiest way to verify this is by creating a normal combat song, a maxxed run speed, maxxed fire damage shield and maxxed cold damage shield. Perform the steps above to trigger off each of the songs and then finish with your normal combat song -- check your character sheet to see the bonuses to your resists as well as your increased run speed even though the song isn't technically playing.

I've had 6 songs going for the past hour so it doesn't seem to time out.

Do *not* use the embolden song that boosts your dexterity and vitality. There is a bug that causes the stat boost to get subtracted from your stats when you zone with the song active in this manner.

Cheers

Update to this:

If you do this with multiple songs that have the "Cirel's Healing Phrase" component in the verse section of the song, you will get the healing pulse from it once for each song that has it.

For example -- If you do this to stack 7 songs and each of the 7 songs has the "Cirel's Healing Phrase" in the verse section -- Every 4 seconds you will regen 7 * 40 hp (more depending on your level).

As an example -- last night I had 11 songs going at once to max out all 3 of the Gamael's lines, max haste, etc. Each song had the Healing phrase component in them and I was able to easily go toe-to-toe with an even level 4 dot mob without my health ever dropping below 90%.

If you duo with a strong melee, you can equip a stringed instrument before you start stacking your songs to double the healing amount. Then you just sit back and ranged attack the mobs and let the melee go to town with all the buffs, haste and regen. It's possible to get this up to a point where you are regenning over more than your max HP every 4 seconds if your system can handle that much chunking without a crash.

This is working great.

Another note is to make at least 3 songs with 3 of each of the gammels blade procs in them. (fire, cold, poison)
At least 2 proc every auto attack and at level 38 add 300 dmg each per hit.

-------
To answer the how does this work question:
Zone then Click Song 1
Zone then Click Song 2
Zone then Click Song 3
Zone then Click Song 4
Zone then Click Song 5
Zone then Click Final Song, normally attack.
Then go attack and don't chunk again.

Once this is done don't change weapons, stances, instruments or songs and it will keep working great.

You can also stack the same damage shields multiple times. Only one will help per attack but rather than waiting 3-6 seconds for it to come back up, it will almost be instantly back up.

Thanks for the bug.

Problem child has it right. Just make sure the last song you play before going off to adventure is a song that has low or 0 energy cost to make sure you don't have energy issues.

Few other items to go along with what PC said above about the damage shields.

1) This also works with the rune -- you can get it so the rune comes back almost instantly every hit

2) You *can* use embolden but only if it's your final song and you don't chunk after playing it.

3) Having 3 songs, 1 for each of the gamael's, works great - you can also put the DS / Energy resists in these songs to get those stacked up as well (was up to a 160pt damage shield last night)

Also note, I'm not sure how risky this is as far as getting caught / banned. Just make sure you realize that, as with any exploit, you are taking the chance of getting banned for doing this.

One more addendum to this:

Only effects in your final song will affect NPCs / MOBs. For the song you play after your last chunk, put in any NPC debuffs that you want to have active otherwise they will not affect your target.

Ok, so I'm only a little bard, but I made 5 songs with the same effects (looking for the stack effect). I zone and click, then zone and click, etc etc but I never see the effects stack. I do notice that when I click my final 0 final energy that the name of the song being played still shows as the first one I started, and that I'm not losing energy, but I don't see the effects stacked.

AM I missing something?

If you have the same effect in multiple songs, you won't get the effect multiple times. Here's the basic use for it (not sure what is available to you since I don't know your level) as well as a few exceptions to the no stacking.

Simple example:

Song 1: Max damage components
Song 2: Max haste components
Song 3: Max health regen components
Song 4: Max mana regen components
Song 5: Normal song with target debuff components

When you finish this with Song 5, you'll still have the bonuses from the previous songs as well as all your mob debuff components and the song cost will just be whatever your last song had.

Exceptions to the no-stacking:

1) Pulsing effects - Rune Shields, Damage Shields, invis
Since these pulse on 5 - 7 seconds cycles, having them in multiple songs means they refresh almost instantly. This allows your rune to be up for every combat "round".

2) Cirel's Healing Phrase -- level 25
This song gives *you* 40-70 hp every second. It doesn't function like any of the other healing components, so having this in multiple songs will allow you to get the healing pulse multiple times each tick. If you have this in 15 songs (and none of them "bug out") then you can be healing 600 - 1050 every 4 seconds.

An item of note is that any song component that gives you a boost to stats (including the Melody anthem of war) should not be used in any except the last song in your "set". For some reason the stat boosts will drop immediately upon zoning so you will lose that bonus. If you then play the stat booster again, you will end up getting a NEGATIVE to your stats equal to the boost the song should be giving.

An insanely powerful use for this at higher levels is to have multiple songs that each have a maxxed out version of one of the Gamael's lyrics. You can have up to an 83% (or so) chance for each of 6 different procs.on every melee or ranged hit -- this is SICK!

Awesome, thanks for the info.

Also, while playing with this, I was killed instantly after zoning. No aggro, no combat log. I'm thinking Sigil has come up with some harsh ways of dealing with suspected bug abusers?

Also while playing with my sorcerer I was playing with vg buddy trying to float out of melee range of aggro, I got teleported to the center of the ocean with no gear. Had to relog after recalling to get it back.

That's actually a bug that's been around since the last update -- it happens sporadically when chunking (very rare, but with the amount of chunking required for this, it ups your odds a great deal). It's happened to me twice since I've been doing this -- but I'm fairly confident it has nothing to do with Sony catching anyone.
