erwinn07 (!empty($user->lang['WROTE'])) ? $user->lang['WROTE'] : ucwords(strtolower(str_replace('_', ' ', 'WROTE'))): So does it matter what order I put points in during each set? Or is it all about speed and trying to get them all before you lose connection?
Order doesn't matter. The bug that makes this work is that if you [Learn] while disconnected, the client resets you to full expertise points but remembers what you've already trained. I respect mine learning 4 times, and just worked from left to right on the branches. Just do it quickly

do the patch notes confim this? I pulled my cable for approx 30 seconds and reconnected. I did however not register any packet loss, atleast none that was updated in the network status window.

Actually they just shortened the timer.
Yesterday you could select your skills and train them without missing the window of opportunity.
Today, I had to train up my skills on the first box. Then disconnect cable. Then select train, and second box. Then train, then reconnect cable and it barely worked.
I could not get it to work the exact same way i did yesterday, so they changed something but it can still work if you minimize the time between your disconnect.

hmm. I simulated the exploit, meaning i opend the expertise window, pulled my cable and began clicking on every button, I did so until I clicked on every button on each page. Then waited 4 seconds to account for clicking the train button, then plugged back in. I did not lose connection. Perhaps I was faster than I would have been if was was actually doing the exploit, also I used the BH expertise, so that may change things. But i didnt notice anything that suggests that they have shortened the time we can be unplugged. also this would likely vary per person, since I would assume the faster your internet connection the faster you can communicate back and forth with the server. May just be bad luck on your end.

I've did it today morning on 2 of my toons it worked like a charm... (At 9:00 GMT+1...)
As someone stated before, it's a lot easier if you reset your expertise at the consular, open the expertise window, spend your first 45 points WITHOUT clicking on the 'Train' button, then unplug cable, and Train. You can do that 2 more times with moderate hassle.
So it still works, i wonder if we get a permaban for this. Or most likely, they will make everyone reset their expertise....

I'm gonna have to say nay to a permban, if caught. There are people walking around with a much better, or worse exploit, depending on how you look at it. Don't be stupid, and don't tell anyone. When doing it, don't be stupid enough to do the exploit in front of the profession npc, better yet, go to you house and do it. stay out of sight incase you do get disconnected. By now the devs are likely aware of this exploit, and if they aren't lets do our part to keep it that way. You tell your friend/guildmate, then he tells a friend, and then next thing you know, its being talked about in spatial chat, and people are acking you how to do it.

It may have just been my connection today was slower than yesterday, or that my isp took longer to re-establish itself today?
In any case, i can confirm you dont have to pull your plug before selecting the first page stuff.... you can pull the plug right before you hit "train" for the first page.
This should double the success rate since usually when we fail, its because you had to select two pages of expertise really fast.
This way we only have to deal with disconnecting modem, accept training, select training on page two, then accept training plug in modem.
Boom half the time taken!

Just to clarify what im saying;
select all the abilities for page 1.
Disconnect modem
accept training for page 1.
Select abilities for page 2.
Accept abilities for page 2.
Reconnect modem.
Less disconnects, and half the time taken to do it.
