If you feel like trying to figure it out, here is what I know:
• The hue is from quest item toggle
• You need to do spellweaving quest (to do with toggling the cotton)
• It takes two people to do
• It is complicated - a pain to do
• It can be done in 2D or KR
• You can do it on any facet (no idea if need to be guilded etc)
• It doesn't involve being killed (APPARENTLY)

Choose a quest from a npc in heartwood or elsewhere make your 10 items and tag them as the quest items. Now go to your home load yourself up to 125 items. Craft another item and while its being crafted lift up the quest tagged item. After the new item is crafted you drop the quest item into your bag, to many items now, it will drop to the ground. Lock the item down. Repeat as many times as you want. Items outside your bag when you quite or complete quest remain tagged and colored in the fire color.

Yes I know, and the same thing can be done using an Ethy. Now back to the point of this thread - how is this cloth made?
Having a quest-tagged piece of cotton on the floor of your home does not help you unless you can remove the quest tag and use the cotton, which is what I am currently failing to do.
