I had been running as admin but switching to XP SP@ compatibility mode fixed the problem. Thank you for the help.

VG has a bunch of broken values, I'm patching. Will have it up here in about 2 hours.

Same for me. Just purchased today, cant get it working. Followed instructions step by step, still wont work. running vgextreme.exe crashs as soon as I try to open it.

This is a very old thread. It was patched eons ago. Be sure to follow the FAQ and recheck your step by step. If you still have a problem, post in a new thread.
sounds like you didnt register the dll's. And if you are on vista you need to do it from a administrator command prompt.
