I would say just do quests, their are way more quests then you need to level from 70 to 80 so just go back and do the ones you did not do to hit 80 you will get around 13 gold for each one easy money.

All servers are different so which items are in demand will vary, but first off get auctioneer, watch trade chat and see what peolpe are looking for. The price of Darkmoon cards has decreased substantially, but Nobles Decks are still strong. I would suggest getting an herbalist and an inscriptor or a friend with inscription. You can sell Frost Lotus' and the Decks for a couple hundred a piece and the nobles deck for 5k (prices based on my server). This is pretty much how i got the majority of my 30k gold.
*Put on some good music and farm, then turn the ore/herbs into something people want for an increased price.
