memory leak in DAoC : XUnleashed Scripting Documentation

When i run XU for DAoC the program runs fine for about 30secs. I checked the log and it finds memory leak. The map disapears and i can't click on the tab to bring it up. Any ideas?

Just some more info, the problem exists on all the servers and all the characters. I am running win XP and use the DAoC SI client but i have the ToA client(too laggy in rvr)

sounds like your anti-virus/ firewall is blocking xu from talkingg to its serers. try turning it off.

ok i will try that but my anti-virus and router never gave it problems before, it just started last week around the nov 28. patch

Ok i tried with the anti virus and firewall down but still happening. This what the log shows:

JB5884, try updating your video drivers.

Also, what OS and graphics card do you have? How much video memory does it have?

I will add some debugging code to the FOUND: DirectDrawCreateEx function and see if we can find ou why yours is crashing at that point.


Do you play windowed? Have you tried full screen?

Ok, i updated my video drivers, the log doesnt see a memory leak anymore but the map still crashes, here is the log:

I'm running a P4 2ghz 1gig ddr2700 radeon 9000 pro 128mb Sound blaster live Value Windows XP professional. I play in windowed mode but i tested it in full screen and it crashes as well

Ok, you say that the map crashes?

Do you mean it crashes you out of the game when you open it?

If you do not open the map, does xu work fine otherwise? Ie, macro plugins, trigger plugin windows, etc?

Make sure when you bring up the map, that you are selecting the correct server version. Ie, if you are playing SI here is the US, make sure you check the US SI checkbox.

The game doesnt crash... the map is on correct server SI and US. If i put the map up it disapears and i cant bring it back up the tab diapears too.
Same thing happens if i dotn put the map up i cant bring up the XU tab.

Also... in the upper left corner where it say xunleashed when in game, theres a red dot in the corner. i never noticed it before not sure if its a mark from mythic or something like that.

That dot is new. Going to add a checkbox to turn it off. It is *supposed* to follow the mouse cursor, but it is bugged for daoc.

So, do the other plugins work?

Try reinstalling the DU Service. It could be that you have an outdated DU Service. You might even have to go into the plugins folder and delete the DU Service entirely, then reinstall it.

Also, if EU has patched, then Wyv needs to do his regular counter patch. That is normal.

I don't know about the other plugins i dotn use them, i am goign to say no because when the XU tab disapears i cant bring anything up. As for reinstalling and such i tried it already. deleted restarted redownloaded service and program everything and reinstalled it. Will try it again. This just started about 1-2 weeks ago... i dont know if something was changed by a patch and maybe windows XP or my vid card is affecting it. But i tried all the troubleshooting i could think of.

What about the DU Map. Did you delete and reinstall it also. It got updated to 2.8.0.1 I think.

i deleted my xunleashed folder and all my downloads(saved my registration etc.) restarted comp downloaded everything from the website not sure about that update though, will check right now.

.... ok the only map i see to download is this:
DAoCUnleashed Map Plugin V2 Installer
is there another that im just not noticing?

... in options, should force redraw be checked?

OK... i totaly deleted everything and reinstalled it.. still doesnt wokr in windowed gonan try it in full and then ToA client
