Info on GW

Well another expansion is coming up on us and more things are being added. Because the game is free with no subscription fee, they must release expansions to cover their costs. However, where does this end at? They are releasing expansions every 3-4 months at a time and added new content. Will they evetually get to far ahead of themsleves leaving the people with the beginning game in the dust? Whats everyones opinions on expansions and the newly added Nightfall.

If the ideas are fresh and new then I'll continue buying the chapters.

I don't think Anet though will keep releasing new chapters. I think they'll eventually stop with Guild Wars after so many chapters and create another MMO based game.

Maybe keep Guild Wars free and then release another game set in another story but with a monthly fee. I think that would work great.

Yeah well im poor i dont think i can afford to keep buying all the expansions but maybe if im lucky everyone else will stop playing proph

Well i hope they never charge a monthly fee it would be like a scam first they are saing MMORPG witout any monthly fees and then they like stab you in the back. Lots of people bought the game because it was free everymonth else they probably bought World of Warcraft.

Its only one new expansion pack every 6months they stated somewhere on their site. Their heads must be full of ideas

For sure they wont include fee's for online gaming in the future, at the rate this is goin right now anet is making plenty of cash just selling the game and expensions , i will pre-order nightfall the 13th and get the collectors edition. Even if GW would contain monthly fees i wouldnt prefer WoW over GW.

I play World of Warcraft and it is better than Guild wars (no offense) I say u get wat u pay for in wow its not really got a story it's more free form but guild wars is good 2 mind

not generally you get what you pay for. some other games which you pay for completly suck !@#$%^&* while some are decent. some free ones are pretty good but are always buggy. what makes a game good is a storyline and good gameplay.

matrix online had the storyline down and the gameplay was decent but it sucked overall in execution.

gw has a good storyline and decent gameplay and great execution.

wow has excelent gameplay but not that much of a storyline so it dies out a bit and gets boring but otherwise very good.

ffxi had decent gameplay and a poor storyline but it was fun how it was executed making it a great game.

just like to say, my local game shop now has nightfall in stock! tried to bribe him to sell one to me for £20, to no avail.


btw WoW isnty great considering you PAY TO PLAY ONLINE

ANet are releasing 2 Guild Wars' per year, so thats $180

WoW charge you $15 per month, so that's $180

I suppose WoW has the initial fee for the game and the expansion's tho

It's $100 per year ($50 per expansion)
WoW is $180 per year ($15*12months)

GW is $80 cheaper per year. Where can you find GW for $90 and WoW for $15 per month?

I'd rather not pay $15 a month, thats ridiculus.

Yea, GW is cheaper. And GW is much better (in some ways WoW is).
Only bad thing is that they implent only some things from expansion to other ones so you just have to pay.
