After investigation and utilising customer's reports, it seems the majority of lagging issues are happening to users who's path between their own ISP and the CABAL game serversm go through the Transit Peer Level3.net (particularly their Dallas POP) - As this is an interim transit peer (i.e. it's not the transit peer used directly by the customer's ISP, nor is it the transit peer used by GamesMasters for the CABAL service - it's a link in the middle), there is nothing GM can do to resolve this issue, other than make Level3.net aware of the situation, which we have done. Customers who have a lag issue are advised to perform a traceroute and if their path encounters slow response times over Level3.net (>200ms), then they are advised to get in touch with their own ISP, and ask their ISP to get in contact with Level3 directly - the more reports Level3 get, the quicker they will resolve whatever issues they are experiencing.
In other maintenence news, the main CABAL online Webserver and Patch server have been rebooted.
