August has arrived and in the world of CABAL Online the forces of change are in full swing. At a time when most are jetting off on their summer vacations, enjoying a well earned rest, here at Games-Masters.com we promise a month jam-packed with updates and exciting developments. But wait the fun doesn't stop there! In the past few months we have listened and petitioned for many of the changes you have asked for and are pleased to announce some key changes coming to a CABAL near you! So what exactly have we got planned? And more importantly can you afford to jet off and miss them?

Brand new updates this August

This month you will be flooded with updates, introducing a host of new features and addressing a large number of the active game bugs. More details will be announced closer to the time but in the meantime here are some juicy previews to wet your appetites.

Guild Board

The eagerly anticipated feature is finally here and will be launched on the live server on Thursday August 7th. (Yes, this Thursday!). For those of you unaware of this feature, the guild board is an exclusive board which will help integrate and improve organisation within your guild community. Functions of the board include:
    - Ability to post articles and announcements for guild members to read.

    - A free "forum" style area, allowing you to post tips, questions or simply chat. Members of the guild will be able to post and reply to the topics.

    - An area for non-guild members to post applications. This will be an invaluable resource not only for recruiting members but also for guild war requests.

    - Information pages on both the guild (i.e. nation of the guild, guild name and guild image) and its members (Name/ Battle Style/ Level/ Sword Skill Rank/ Magic Skill Rank/ Honour Rank (point) of guild members). This area can be seen by both guild members and non guild members, providing a valuable resource for all users.

    - Ability to sort character information, enabling you to see the highest and lowest statistics (i.e. person with the highest level)

    - The character page will also show which members are online and which are offline (future updates will enable this to be hidden, along with other personal character details).

    - Administration and moderation tools to enable you to manage your guild board as and how you wish.

The Precious Stones of the Forgotten Temple

With the introduction of pet training, a dangerous new dungeon, numerous new quests, shiny new items and key changes to the upgrade system, this update is the largest expansion to the game content since Episode 2 and will provide new and exciting challenges for all the heroes of Nevareth. Currently scheduled to be tested in the middle of August, more details will be announced on this update in the coming weeks. For a preview of this patch take a look at thepatch preview thread.

The conclusion to the July events

The Xfire event has now come to a conclusion and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the team at Xfire for their help in running this successful event. Congratulations to all the winners (there were many of you) and we hope that everyone enjoyed participating in at least one of the elements of this event. Prizes should be sent out in the coming days and will be received via the mail system.

The Roadmap to the future

In the past few weeks negotiations have been ongoing between ourselves and the developers in an aim to address the issues the community feel most strongly about. While this is a continuous process we felt that it was necessary to inform you all about some key changes which have been agreed to. Please note we currently have no ETA on when these changes will be applied.

Changes to the Mission War (Tierra Gloriosa)

You said.. "one war is not enough for everyone to participate"

We said.. The number of mission wars will be increased from one war per day to six wars per day.

You said.. "low levels are contributing towards an imbalance in wars"

We said.. There will now be three TG channels, with each having a different level range. Mission war 1 will be open for levels 95 to level 129. Mission war 2 will be open from level 130 to level 149. Mission war 3 will be open for all levels above 150. In order for the system to continue to work, the nation war will be decided by the highest level wars (i.e. the nation whom wins the most wars in mission war 3).

Escalating number of cheats

You said.. "there are not enough ingame GMs to catch the bots"

We said.. Three new ingame GMs have been hired to work alongside the team already in place to catch and remove cheats. This is alongside several new policies and scripts which will help to eradicate a large number of those who have cheated , both past and present.

You said.. "the detection scripts are catching innocent players "

We said.. The scripts have been checked and modified to ensure we only catch those who have actually used speed hacks, automated programs and genuine cheats.

You said.. "it is too easy for players to bot"

We said.. We are working closely with INCA, the developers of gameguard, to develop new prevention methods.

Improvements to the Crafting System

Please note that these details are not set in stone and are prone to change.

You said..."Insufficient supply of some craft materials"

We said.. Future patches will look to improve the trading system, making it easier to sell and buy supplies and resources for crafting. Furthermore it is our intended plan to drop the materials of professional craft as bundle in the fields but it is not for materials of basic craft. It is because basic craft does not require many number of materials and we intend to limit the number of buff potion crafted by basic craft.

You said.. "We don't have enough information on the crafting system"

We said..We agree that you lack of information about the craft system and we are planning to provide necessary information to users by improving craft system and quest in the future.

Transparency of information

You said.. "We want more details on the workings of the game"

We said.. Find below several of your questions answered.

Quote:

1. Is there crit dmg. cap ?

Critical damage can be increased by equipment and buff skills. There is no critical damage increase limit for the equipment but the critical damage increase by buff skill is limited at 100%.

2. Is there cap on crit rate from skills – can a force blader use 3 skills to gain 35% crit rate?

- The critical rate increase by skills is limited as 25%. Therefore, Force Blader also has 25% of critical rate increase limit by using 3 skills. When Force Blader uses 3 buff skills, the sum of critical rate increase is 35% but only 25% will increase.

3. Can you explain exactly how alz/1slot/2slot item drop woks and are there any caps to those bonuses. Are they interfering with each other and how (what happens if u have some of all 3 types of these bonuses)? How is the bonus working in a group of players if one or all of them have such items?

If you mean the “bonus” is the option on the equipment to increase drop rate of Alz/ 1 slot/ 2 slot, there is no limit for drop rate increase. The option applies to the character which wears the equipment so the option of the player does not affect party members. For example, if player A and B are in one party and player A has alz drop increase option on equipment and player B has 2 slot drop increase option on equipment. The increase rate of Alz will apply to player A and increase rate of 2 slot will apply to play B only.

4. Can you explain how exactly + min dmg % works, and does it work for both magic and sword attacks?

The minimum damage applies to Sword skill only. Sword skill has range of minimum damage and maximum damage and Magic skill has fixed minimum damage rate per use. If the maximum damage of Sword skill is 100, each class has its minimum damage as below:

Warrior: 80%

Blader: 90%

Force Shielder/ Force Blader: 85%

Therefore, if above classes have minimum damage option as 1%, they will have minimum damange for Sword skill as below:

Warrior: 80% + 1%

Blader: 90% + 1%

Force Shielder/ Force Blader: 85% + 1%

If above classes set their minimum damage option as 100%, they will get fixed minimum range as if they used Magic skill.

5. Can you explain how add. Damage works and does it work for both magic and sword attacks?

Additional damage applies to both Sword and Magic skills and it ignores defense of the target. For example, if the character can give 1000 damage to monster and it has additional damage as 100, it will give 1100 damage to monster.

6.We know that skills have shorter casting times in combo mode. Is it possible to tell us what the formula is to calculate them or to add that information to the skill description?.

It is not possible to calculate the skill casting time in combo mode and there is no formula. The maximum difference among skill casting time is 0.25 seconds and it depends when user hit the combo gauge.

7. In Forgotten Temple: Is there any difference between the red, green and blue key?

Red, green and blue key in Forgotten Temple B1F are the items to start quest. The only difference between red, green and blue key in Forgotten Temple B1F is the procedure of the quest. They all reward same drop rate and quest reward.
