I look at it two ways, SWG became flawed, it's SOE's fault. They left the door open for another SW MMO, and thankfully a company with a reputation for high quality RPG's is working on it. Granted SOE has the largest variety of MMO's out there right now, but seriously are any of them really up to par with today's expectations.
I don't think SWG will die because of SW:TOR, but I think it will go more the way of Ultima Online. A certain amount of players will stick with it and that will be that, not real hope for market growth. Face it all MMO's will have this happen to them sooner or later, even the Big Boys like WoW, and I'd rather a quality replacement come out than some over glorified EQ Clone which when you strip away the fancy graphics WoW really is.

Yea swg will live just wont be as big. Bioware i think is going to do justice to the game. Unless an odd fluke happens and they released a bad game. I think soe just messed up left and right. Instead of thinking what the community wants they thought what would bring in the most players. That was a big mistake. The reason EVE gets bigger and bigger is they work on what players want. Then the money just comes in from that.

SWG is stil la good game but like many other games it's has some drawbacks. NGE just wasen't the same and it chased away an awful lot of people. The emu still has a long way to go and and awful lot of bugs. I'll def be playing it tho when the team finally release a full version and not just some testing servers.

I forgot to add, SWG is 8-years old, so it's certainly knocking on. If any folks have a a spare account the want to sell to me, please likewise drop me a PM.

I dont think its the age of swg that killed it. EVE Online as i posted in another thread is an example of a game still going strong.

skairata (!empty($user->lang['WROTE'])) ? $user->lang['WROTE'] : ucwords(strtolower(str_replace('_', ' ', 'WROTE'))): SWTOR aint KOTOR You're right. It's KOTOR 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc. I'll take it.
