yeah... we overcame this with CyberMiner (aka SuperNOVA)... once everything has been finished for updating to Revelations, we'll put a beta up for people to play with.
As a suggestion... this is what has happened for detecting ships...
ship warps into belt and looks for ships....
if none found... locks roid and starts to mine...
goes back to looking for ships and detecting if the roid has popped.
If roid pop, relock and continue
If ship detected then run away! lol! This means our overview only switches a couple of times.
