What language are you using? Do you use a normal english keyboard setting?

I use a non-US keyboard setting. If I remember correct I tried to shift to US-setting in Windows2000 without any change in the script - still had the same aborting of the script - will try changing to US-setting to be sure though...

Will UltraBot be working after todays patch (LU20 - Kingdom of Sky)?

There is a big chance that LU20-KoS will brake the eq2services, so I woud say it probably wont work till tommorow.

For the keyboard, UB only work with US keyboard setting, I can check if I can add some support to non US, I am myself from Quebec Canada and speak french, so I will see what I can do about that.

A couple of other bugs I'm now noticing. Again I'm using 1 offensive bot and 1 buffbot. Frequently, the buffbot is not detecting that combat is over and keeps trying to assist his partner and keeps casting on him. Normally that wouldn't be a problem since he wouldn't be healing him if he's at full health, but I have some wards mixed in there. Thus it burns down his power.

The other issue is that the offensive bot keeps targeting non attackable npcs. I had to turn off the attack non aggro flag so that things would work at all. Even so he will still keep targetting these npcs.

Are those NPC named one? Is the first letter of there name capital?

Yes it's a named NPC that has a pet. It's a white non attackable NPC. I've been running 2 guys inside the entrance to Nek Castle. It's the quest giver just inside the courtyard that has a pet.

Is the ini variable FightNamed set to true or false?

It would be super nice if you could make UB accept other keyboard settings...there are other ppl than Americans that play EQ hehe :P

It would be nice if you could write that UB only supports US-keyboard in the readme file until you "fix" it :)

Thanks again for the help - looking forward to buying 2 more keys to XUnleashed when I get this bot to work hehe.

I am positive that the log is turned on and that the log is actually present at the correct location.

Please help me out here. Should I drop trying to get this Bot to work or am I just unlucky? I simply dont understand how the script can fail to read my log.

I am positive that the log is turned on and that the log is actually present at the correct location.

Please help me out here. Should I drop trying to get this Bot to work or am I just unlucky? I simply dont understand how the script can fail to read my log.

I am sure the script can open the log file etc. Only problem is the script send a /log then check in log file to see if its there to make sure it can read the log, since your /log dont work the script just stop.
Try with a US keyboard setting and make sure you can do a /log in game.

Ok, im using the script in buffbot mode with a necro. It is working "OK" im wondering if I can clean it up any, I also have a few questions. First off last night when I was setting it up, I was getting errors for variables not set. These variables were not options in the editor, so I had to go into the ini file add them by hand and take an educated guess on what to put. Lemme list the ones that were not loading.

ERROR: Can't find variable - [TargetMonsterSTR]. Please Add Variable to INI file
ERROR: Can't find variable - [IdleTimer]. Please Add Variable to INI file
ERROR: Can't find variable - [ConfirmLootX]. Please Add Variable to INI file
ERROR: Can't find variable - [ConfirmLootY]. Please Add Variable to INI file
ERROR: Can't find variable - [NonAttackableObjects]. Please Add Variable to INI file

So, I added these variables. I bound a key for target monster, set idle timer randomly I think. For the confirm loot I just duplicated my LootX/Y settings. For the nonattackableobjects I left it as 0, perhaps I should set it ~?

Secondly, when calling for the bot to assist me, on a multiple mob encounter after the first mob dies, the buffbot has a tendency to run near the corpse of the mob that died and sit there sometimes inactive untill the fight is over. I have all loot options turned off for it, curious what could be causing it. Question in regards to this, does the bot auto defend itself and the party if the party is in combat and you have the defend/fight back variable set as true? I've been using assist on every target and everymob, and if I call for it to assist after I attacked, the bot will tell me it is busy fighting.

Lastly, between fights, the bot just won't move for a period of time. It stands still for 20 seconds or so perhaps, finally sends me a tell "yo" then starts following, even if I ask it to follow. Anyway I can speed this after kill refollow speed up?

First thing, what version of Ultrabot are you using?

Second, send me your ini file I will check your setting.

I must be missing something. When I run the script nothing happens. Nothing shows up in the log, nothing is displayed and my character does nothing. It usually takes several clicks of the 'run' button before the script even says it's running. Any ideas what I might have done wrong?

Steps I took:
Unzip files to scripts
Copy .xml files to UI/EQ2Map directory (already had EQ2Map installed)
Launch EQ2 through XU
Once in game, start script

Thanks for any tips.

Is the ini variable FightNamed set to true or false?

Yes FightNamed is set to true. It works fine with FightNonAgro set to false as well, but it should be ignoring non attackable npcs. I haven't checked the mtype for him but I'm pretty sure he won't show up as a -3 to 4 since the client knows to show him as non attackable white no matter what your level is.

As I wrote I tried running the script with US-keyboard setting (I tested that EQ2 was actually in US-setting by typing). I opened the log by typing /log in the game and that worked.

So I am positive that I used US-keyboard setting and that the log could actually be opened in the game...still got an abort from script :(

Any suggestions?

Make sure you open up the persona window behind the xu dialog. Mouse clicks won't work on that dialog unless you have an in game window open behind it. This is an issue due to mouselook and such.

Also make sure you have compatibility mode checked.

At this point the script should run but if you misconfigured the ini file you will get some errors that are reported in the log file in your scripts folder. Check for error and keep fixing them up till it runs.

Ok, i've fixed most of my original problems, new problem exists.

It is extremely unstable.

Currently im running the bot as a defiler as a buffbot for a group of varying size. The script stops all the time. Sometimes it runs for awhile just fine, sometimes the script crashes after 1 fight.

I've searched the logs and im not seeing any errors causing it to close, im not even seeing a reason for it to close.

For people who use the script frequently, is this normal stability or do I have something borked?
