Ok, i've fixed most of my original problems, new problem exists.

It is extremely unstable.

Currently im running the bot as a defiler as a buffbot for a group of varying size. The script stops all the time. Sometimes it runs for awhile just fine, sometimes the script crashes after 1 fight.

I've searched the logs and im not seeing any errors causing it to close, im not even seeing a reason for it to close.

For people who use the script frequently, is this normal stability or do I have something borked?


Until XU release the version 4.0 there is some major problem that cause wierd thing to happend, so it is not stable until XU get version 4.0 out.

I spend another 2 hours trying to figure out why the Bot wont read my log file...

I made a EQ2 macro key that does "/log" as it seems to be part of the problem. If I spam this key (while the bot is "initiating") the bot actually works...sometimes anyway.

It looks like the "/log" that the bot sends never gets in the actually log file and hence the bot can't find it there. It seems to be some issue with the "initiatechat" key that wont start the chat.

I have tried using different keys to initiate chat, but I havent found one that works it seems.

Can anyone plz plz plz plz plz help me lol?

In the default.ini for your script try setting the initiate chat as / and set the "getSTR" key as something other than enter... I use the "Y" key for "getSTR". Inside everquest go under options and set the "Trigger Default Action" key to match what you chose for the "getSTR" key for the bot. Under "begin chat" in Everquest clear anything that is chosen here and set the "Begin Command" to /

There are now 22 pages of replies, but I cant seem to find any step by step directions.

I downloaded the new ultrabot, unzipped it into my xunleashed directory. I ran the ub-ini-editor and set my keys, then saved it. When I run the game I start the ultrabot script but nothing happens.

Im trying to set up a bot to heal my tank, so far no luck. Ive set the heal keys, set the %'s, but when I send the tells to the bot nothing happens. None of the combat sequences seem to do anything either.

Please point me in the right direction.

I'm starting to have some serious problems using a pet class.

When the buffbot gets aggro, the main offensive bot starts targeting things at random and attacking it.


Also it will send in the pet and then just forget abotu the pet and starting to find other thigns to attack.

To help with some of these, it will show "assisting buffbot's pet" and then start to just target thing at random and attack it.

Ok Wyv, found my log. Its pretty long, and not really sure what Im looking for. Id post it here, but it's pretty long.

I enter the game and bring up the window. I bring up the scripts window. I check compatibility mode and then hit start. When I do it starts loading a bunch of things, then stops.

Yes at the bottom of that log it will have the reason why it bombed out. Or it will show in that log an initialization routine and there will be an error message in there. I had one and it was something simple like havePet was not set to true/false.

Thanks heidrickla I'll try to set up the keys differently. Atm the offensive pet bot I am running is working fairly well. As Wyv, I have some troubles with the necro suddently casting on random mobs (it seems that it is continuing some combat-string that wasnt finished in last fight...).

I have another question. I set up another bruiser toon as offensive bot. I can get the script to run without errors, but the buff isnt working very good. I have encountered the following problems:

1) Script is running very slow. The computer I use is different from the one doing the necro-bot. The computer is equal in performence as the necro bot (actually it is a little faster then necro bot computer). Initializing the script takes 10 times the time that initializing does for the necro bot. The script runs so slow that the combat strings are only startet with the first combat ability...the rest is simply not done as script is too slow and mob is long dead from auto attack b4 next combat ability is run...
Why is script running so slow?

2) I use ranged weapon to pull. Bc of the short range on the bruisers ranged weapons (25 m) it would be cool if the bruiser could run to closer to mob and pull it back to camp. I know it can be done and I have set it up to do so, but it wont close to target.
Can someone plz show me how their ini file is set up for ranged attack for pulls?

3) I would like to run a triple bot while sleeping (Bruiser, Necro and Warden). Is anyone doing this (or something simular)? Could I see the ini files involved plz?

Hope you guys can help me out - I am so eager to get it all up and running lol.

Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?

Also, not sure what files belong where. I have a c:\XU folder, installed the bot into the scripts folder of XU. I also moved a few files into the EverquestII folder itself.

I tried to use the editor that is included, but I dont think it 'took'. While reading this log I noticed the default command strings (for healing and such) are still there. When I open the editor, the text I put is there, but when I run the logs it's still the default.

What type of pull you using for pet? Send me your ini file I will look into it.

For buffbot getting aggro, I know there is a problem there and I am trying to fix it.

After EQ2 is loaded go to windowed mode and hit ctrl + alt + del this opens the task manager (I am sure you have seen it before) go to the processes tab and right click on Everquest2.exe, click set affinity, make sure that only cpu0 is checked. Not CPU0 and CPU1. Hit ok, close the task manager then back to eq2 where you can run your scripts. This should make the slow machine run better. You will have to do this every time you reload EQ2.

Hope this helps.

An alternative to this is to simply disable hyperthreading. You wont have to set processor affinity each time. There is also a permenant way to set affinity. Directions are buried somewhere here in the forums to do this

Thanks seveneleven - that made wonders for the speed that the script runs with!

It didn't change the fact that I can't get the script for the bruiser to behave correctly (neither as Offensive or as Buff bot). I could still use some help with the following:
