So as a general newb to the game I really dont know how things shape up as the higher levels roll around. Want I want to know is which class is best for endgame raids? I would probably be looking for the best balance of dps along with survivability.

shaman, but thats like no contest, dont play a shaman its not even fair to us alliance
oh and not only are they the most versitile and powerful class, they are soooo easy to play, which is the only reason why horde wins battlegrounds 80% of the time on any server... doesnt seem like a huge deal, but the fact that shamans take absolutely no skill to completely rape wheras paladins take lots of practice and concentration and timing and stuff like that.
ne way ill stop !@#$%^&*

If played right, warlock can be an insane endgame class, but not everyone is good with them. They are very versitile ranging from doing a lot of DOT spells, nuking with destruction spells, or taking tons of damage if you go demonology.

End game, the warlock has the most potential. Very good soloers, pretty unstopable in pvp as well. They are the hardest class to play, but if played right, extreemly overpowered :p

Currently at end game (full tier 2, rank 14, ask/untamed, 3% scope, blah blah blah)
Warriors will have the highest HP/AC. Your DPS will be >= a rogue in highend lvl60 blues. With WF totems, you can beat out most hunters (assuming they aren't CB smiting). This will put you #2ish, with rogues holding #1 DPS.
You will have dedicated healers on raids that will feel comfortable healing you in PvP also. No other class has that sort of relationship.
You won't be soloing at that level, unless your farming mats, faction, or resist gear.
Assuming you have reached this point, most guilds will give you first crack at upgrade loot.... but you won't need it, because your end game already.

im gonna /agree with warlock being the best in terms of the most popular ideas of what a best class is made up of... high ammounts of damage at 1 time, ability to have a backup plan for as many situations as possible, survival skills, counter attacks that are either always useable or frequently available (pets mainly), and the how much gear will effect their value as a player...
so endgame id say warlocks have it best cuz u gotta look at it as who can do good in almost any situation, not who could be the best at 1 specific thing.
ive never had one myself, but i admire anyone who plays a warlock endgame and does wel... seems their potential is only limited by the player's IQ and reaction time

only thing a warlock cant combat against is a rogue. Unless you have stam buffs on everything and got your stam talent, you have very low HP, thus getting torn appart by a rogue in PvP. Mostly because of stun-lock, but then theres ambush/backstab which i usually die in 1 hit with a 4k crit. (my server is very violent)
and bluechipps....I rolled a pally and a shammy both, got em to 40. Pally is MUCH MUCH easier to play than shammy, it requires no skill whatsoever. You just go up to something, hit it for a while, then when it starts pwning you, you hit your shield and run away. While shammies on the other hand, you have pretty powerful spells, but your armor is much weaker so you go down about as fast as your enemy does. The only thing shammys have thats good is their totems, which save your life soo many times, but they still cant stand up to a pally shield. Anyways...i dont want to get into this whole debate again....this is getting to be worse than Bush/Kerry

bah that last post is the dumbest thing ive ever heard.... this thread is best endgame class..... i have perfected playing a paladin.... and they blow like no other.... they are significantly harder to master than a shaman, but suck compared to them in battlegrounds pvp.... a paladin once mastered can beat near any class in the game (including shaman) 1v1... but other than that... it aint happenin...
problem with this is.... 95% of paladins are horrible.... they cant play there class well... so you dont have to worry about most of them....

Shammans have like 1000000000000 different spells.
Each spell has its own use, time, and place. If you can figure
out the right moment to cast it, you will be uber....
For example, i got this spell when i was a lowbie called
chain heal. Now at that time, i was always soloing so I didnt
find a use for that spell..
But then I started pvping in the battlegrgounds and now its
on my toolbar always. When my whole group is down to 1/2
health, I just cast it 1 or 2 times and the whole group is back
at 100%.
And for a while...i couldnt figure out a reason to use my grounding
totem... Now i love it like no tomorrow. I often see mages standing
there with glowing red hands for like 8 seconds and im like ooooo
shizz flaming boulder incominG! But then I throw down my grounding
and LOL... suddenly my totem absorbs their 4983846789234 dmg crit...
In conclusion...learn to use all the skills available to your class
and it will take you far.

but if i were u, dont go warlock...u need to be really skilled to use one, but there really good and with the new soul pouch out theyll be better
and i think blizzard is planing to nerf warriors so might not be the best choice but by far the coolest looking in end game.
this is a really good warlock that one of my guildies told me about, if u want to watch his video heres the link http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=11057
