Community member Raz pointed out an interesting, and finger pointing, article recently published by GamePro about the Paladins in 1.9. Go give it a read...
The company's inelegant solution comes in the form of shifting talents around... into inexplicable places. Consecration, which is used for either tanking or unstealthing rogues, has no place in the Holy tree, which is the spell damage/healing tree. Sanctity aura has always been useless (get whacked a couple times with Retribution aura and the end result is the same), yet resides in Retribution as the 21-point talent. In any other class, having a 31 point and 21 point talent from separate trees would make you overpowered, yet Paladins are the only--let's say special--class that doesn't follow this trend.

what people fail to realize is that the majority of WoW players are lets say "young" ill break it down like this...
under 15=62%-runescape groupies that played through WCIII using cheat codes
15-21=15%-people that have time inbetween classes and/or work
22-50=20%-just people that enjoy playing MMOs and have time to kill
50+=3%-people that were addicted to Diablo I
(I'm sorry if I offended anyone)
So now knowing this, you may also know that the way you act ingame usually reflects how you act IRL (in real life). You also may know that people under 15 tend to complain more.
So, knowing all of this, here is basically what happens. The 62% make paladins, by now they most likely some way or another have made it to 60. So after a while, they get bored of their paladins because they suck in pvp (in most cases based on the way played), and they already have all of their epic gear. So they do what their friends tell them to and make an alt. They play the alt and get bored of that and decide to quit WoW. And that is the life cycle of a pally.
Now blizzard is aware of this and is afraid of losing their good 62% and their income. So they decide to change their talents around to "Balance" them out. That draws the players back in before they quit for good. And there you have it, blizzards genius at work.
And finally, what we should do about it. We should do NOTHING . I know its going to be hard to getting used to pallies ruling azeroth, but we are going to just have to deal with it, i mean think about it, if blizzard loses that 62% of their income, they wont be able to afford weekly matenance, new patches, new expansions, or any of that good stuff they've been giving us. So the best thing to do is to cope with it until the pallies grow up.
Well thats my 2 cents....er....47 cents. (My guild had a 4 hour discussion on this)

Well, I am 43. I have played Palladins in Diablo 1 & 2 and similar classes in other games/MMORGs. I have played other classes as well in those games and Wow. Believe me when I tell you, Palli's are broke. I have read all the Blizz justifications for making an all around class, but the end result is that it does none of the talents well. And the revamp is quite simply the craziest thing I have ever seen. The Eye for an Eye is cool, but in reality, it is not even remotely worth the point. The reallocation of talents into the various tress makes no sense either.

I have never played a pally in WoW (pallys were my favourite class in Diablo II) and i agree with you, you are broken. I usually play a hunter, and i can remember when i hunters were nothing more than arrow carriers, and i owned pallys only kiteing around the place.
After the Hunter love patch i killed them x 1000. With the revamp of palladins i still kill them easily, and i´m not a pvp player (only rank 6)...
I think that blizz does not have any idea of how to mend the whole class without doing a complete restructuration and putting new features on palladins talent trees. All are patches and more patches.
I don´t even understand how are they going to put new races and update lvl cap to 70 without having all classes well ballanced.
And btw, can anybody tell me what Wyvern Sting is doing on the hunter´s Survivalist Tree?
