well since you guys got someone who posted up a trojan on here when it was generally on ffxi i decided to post my "warning" i did in ffxi here

well people its chrstmas time. presents, porn, snow, freezing temps, kiddies working on hacking sites and trying to steal accounts.

beware of every post for thewinterwhich has an attachment. only download something from a trusted source which will be in confirmed. any other post in submissions or general and possibly guide discussion has a 99.999999999999% chance of being a trojan someone posted to try and take your account.

if you see any submission or a post in general please pm a mod with a link so we can check into it and remove the file. download it if you wish but do NOT open the file and post up the scan results. use the online scanners which we have links to and post up the scan results. use atleast 2 of them because one may show up something and another may not. so this was your friendly reminder DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING UNLESS ITS IN CONFIRMED OR YOU MAY LOSE YOUR ACCOUNT! see yall later

yeah if its in wow send it to rabid.

well i said pm a mod so yeah we are both mods but there are other ones out there. tault_admin is a person you can contact but it may be a while before he replies to the message and removes/bans the person which is why it may be better to ask a mod because generally we are on a lot so can remove the downloads asap and then submit them for ban but choose whoever you want :)

I don't know about you guys, but I use the free home edition of 'Avast!' anti-virus. It seems to work pretty well, and has saved me mulitple times from worms, etc.

mix of both. just dont trust a lot of links given unless its given by an admin but even the dont trust it that much. just give it enough scans to be safe

one scanner is not enough because no scanner will pick up everything. thats why you run it through an online scanner which will have a higher chance of catching anything because it runs it through many scanners

think i dont know that? ive said programs have a trojan many times before i was a mod so the files stayed up. they kept getting 5+ downloads even after that post. I know chances are people wont read this topic but oh well. i gave a warning so if they get their acc stolen its not on my conscience
