Hey guys about 3 months ago or so I bought a WoW account on E-bay. I got the guys username, password, secret question answer and all that. I changed the e-mail right away and everythign else. After only about one week of playing he started to change everything back on me. This continued until blizzard locked the account due to there being too many password retrievals. Now I have waited for about 3 months to allow for the server transfer timer to be up on the character. I just made a second account with his name but a different secret question answer. I am planning to call in next week and change the password when I know he won't be on, and also transfer that character to the new account I created under his name. As far as I know there is no way for him to be able to change this back. He shouldn't be able to transfer this character back to his own account, but if any of you know of a loop hole to this kind of a character swap pls let me know asap.

If you have created a new account using the SAME last name as the original account, and have processed the character transfer, then there is no way for him to pull the account back.

Always make sure when you buy an account, you get their last name (Paypal references work well), and to make a new account to transfer that character onto, even if its still the same realm. Also, try to ask for the e-mail account the account was originally registered for if you arnt able to pay for the transfer, this way they will have a much harder time trying to retrieve the account from blizzard.

Best of luck to you, sounds like you are dealing with a douche.

This is just extra, but if you dont like the name of the character you bought, you should make one with the same name when you transfer it over, that way you can choose a new one for the character.

i had something similar to this happen before, I sold one of my accounts, and shortly after came back to wow, so i bought an account, instead of trying to steal mine back. Shortly after buying it and reseting all the info , The guy i suppose called in and got everythign reset to his account info. and i was no longer able to access anything... I was able to get my money back via paypal, and then said !@#$%^&* it and sent blizzard a email stating that i bought that account on ebay, and i believe the previous owner tried taking it back, just to be an !@#$%^&*. and told them it was on my credit card for prrof and long story short they ended up closing the account permanently.. so he got none of my money and a banned account!

You could also try taking the matter up with Paypal.
Paypal usually offer insurance items bought.
