Hey, I quit my high-end mage and decided to go to the class that 2-shots me. I'm currently lvl 20 and will get to lvl 60 soon but I was wondering:

1. What's a good specc?
2. What gear do I need?

For a PvP specc hunter

thanks, joosh! :D

I recommend going either marksman or survival.

survival-make sure to get improved wing clip, wyvern sting(great for stopping the enimies for the few seconds for you to catch up and wing clip), Lightning reflexes counterattack, killer instinct (best to get AQ40 gear)recommended for nightelf

Marksman-make sure to get improved concussive shot, scatter shot, aimed shot, improved arcane shot, trueshot aura, hawk eye, Barrage(best to get full Giant stalker)recomended for dwarf

do not go beastmastery except for maybe improve aspect of hawk.

I chose 5/15/31 which is better for PVP then PVE...in all i think survival is the best for pvp and make sure to get gear with great amounts of agility.
remember that every 1 agility equals 2 ranged attack power so if you have choice between something with 8 agility and 16 ranged attackpower make sure to get the agility instead it adds up to better things such as critical strike chance.

I hope that helped. GL

In my oppinion, go through the pet spec first, then work into marksman. As long as you know how to kite and play effectively, your pet will be a major boost in damage. So why not add the 15% crit chance and the wonderful haste proc? On any of my hunters, I can beat anyone that doesn't have a pet spec because I know how to utilize my pet to the fullest. Just learn how to work the pet hehe. BTW, IMHO, Survival is a worthless trade. Good luck!

thats the worst spec i've heard for PvP you kidding me 5/31/15 thats horrible for PvP do the 21/30 spec Mark/Surv gives you +8% ranged crit and +3% crit to your normal attacks this spec is good for both ranged dmg and up close and personal dmg it gives you access to Scatter shot AImed shot imp. Concu shot Imp Wing clip Savage strikes (20% crit chance on yur raptor strike and btw if you get a good 2h axe or w/e wit good crit on it u can do over 1k crits i know i have) also you get counterattack with with deterrance you can get away from pesky rogues in yur face and back up and continue firing then they to close SS then back way up concu then continue on firing. plus with the +15% agi increase TSA becomes obsolete and for that matter worthless i'll try and link the build hopefully it works.

oh and btw gear wise i would start off going to DM when you get around 60 lots of Blue +crit% gear the leggings of destruction backwood helm warpwood bindings theres also the +15agi +1% hit chance rings the barbous blade treant's bane (which i still am yet to get *sigh*) and btw just to blow away nay sayers on Treant's bane over like 2 dawns edge or Bone slicing hatchets they now have the +25 agi to 2h's so the +15 sta increase over +5 agi more on 2 dawns wit +15 agi enchants blows that away when comparing what yur dmg output on a raptor strike crit will be now rather then 500 dmg you'll be doing 1k crits also get the beaststalker bindings and try and spend some money on the Bloodsoul set awesome set for hunters thats all gear you don't need a raid for if you can afford the GS's stuff or if you in an end game guild get the GS's or DS's set. if ya have any other questions post'em up. i've played my hunter since release and have been 60 along time.

If you use your pet right, pet spec / marksman backup can dominate a survival class.... I've never lost to anyone not using this spec... The pet DPS goes up, and most people will chase you rather than focus on pet. Only a mage can overwhelm this, and thats only if you get jumped, otherwise, you shouldn't have an issue killing it. In a duel against a mage that sheeps pet / fights you, dismiss pet at start and force the mage to sheep you. Then call pet once sheep has broken, great way to mess up the anti hunter mage lol. PET SPEC FTW!
