Hunter aiding in power leveling (best for helping mage imo) : World of Warcraft General Discussions

I feel like letting another one of my secrets out, that is probably obvious, but many may have not tried.

I convinced my friend to sign up for WoW, saddly, at the time I had only a level 60 hunter, how could I help him level?

I decided to try something out, as he picked a mage, and I didn't feel like rolling a priest with him.

First, I decided... I'm going to DS mobs first, as it didn't tag them with damage, one at a time getting them on me for him to kill. This worked. But after a while, I decided this was too slow and had an idea. I decided to whip out my level 60 turtle, after all I could heal him. I put my pet on passive, and set him to follow. When I saw a mob I hit the growl button (out of range, damn) but wait, I stood next to a mob and hit the growl button, pet taunted, didn't tag. Great! 5 second cool down, forget slow ds. For level 30 odd mobs, my pet could hold about 10 mobs easy without losing agro, friend AoE grinded them. Great xp.


To make the strat even better (it does require two growls later on) combine the two strats!, I would find a small group stand next to it start the growls, well Distracting shotting far away mobs for double the speed in pulls and dividing the damage.
