beast sucks for PVP if you want damage use the marksmanship talent points, and I have never seen any hunter on any realm ever use survival. Im about to test it out but i hope it doesnt suck or i will be mad lol gl with your tests on us hunters :P

Actually Survival can be good in PvP if you combine it with MM

Leveling up and selling you're loot is difently the best way. Just remember to buy you're skills and it shouldn't take you less than a few hours to get to 10, and a few more to get to 20. All in all it took me about 15 hours to get to lv 20 (And i messed around quite a bit to)

The Gryphon as a pet is a bug, I've seen it a few times in IF where someone gets a ride then they can sometimes take control of it. Was funny watching the rider try to sell the "pet" for 200g :o) and the number of people around him at the time was amazing :o)

Im specced to have beast talents until I get beastial swiftness. Then I have either 8 or 7 in survival. 5 in % chance to hit with melee, 2 (or 3) in wing clip.

The rest are in marksmanship talents. I skipped improving things like arcane, serpent sting (only adds a marginal amount of damage and not worth the 5 pts) and scorpid and only spent 2 on mana spent on stings.

Beast talents make my cat insanely fast - 110% with dash 3. I can generally send my cat after anyone without an epic mount, cast aspect of the cheetah run behind the, and my cat will literally kill them on their mount. Its that fast. I can get my cat on another hunter before they even think to drop a freezing trap when we see each other. The #1 remark people say to me in game is "holy crap that cat cranks!" which in my experience is a good part of the reason why I very rarely lose a pvp battle. It also helps in instances, cuz I send the cat to get the mob off the priest who just healed someone and aggrod them. That extra second or two, is life or death for a low health priest.

Survival points make me actually hit people. First thing we noticed in combat logs was how often I was missing. The 5% made all the difference in the world. What I do for PVP, is once the other player charges me trying to hit my dead zone, I run straight at them spamming a macro I have that has wing clip and the other major melee attack(whose name I cant think of) this clips them, allowing me to keep running past them. By the time the 10 seconds of wing clip is up, I am far enough away to get off several shots, renew my sting etc before they catch back up to me again - when they charge again, I repeat the same process.

The marksman talents Ive spent are fairly obvious. My only complaint is that I dont have a fully specced mana management (I have 2 rather than 5), but the % chance I have for wing clip to immobilize and my ultra fast cat evens it all out. Just carry lots of enriched manna biscuits and honeydew or whatever the top mana regen drink is.

I've been spec'd beast mastery for most of the way to 60. Beast mastery = good solo'ing, and good pvp if you use it right.

Spirit bond adds up really quickly with a cat with full frenzy and attack speed lvld up. The cat also takes a chunk of life out of your enemy. If your enemy ignores your pet (like they usually do in pvp), he'll be healing you up while you are running around kiting the enemy. For soloing it's just great because of the added armor and agro, lets you sit back in ranged idstance and keep up the dps while your pet tanks.

For high lvl instances marksmanship pretty much always wins. Pets are just backup dmg and to get guys off priests, which they dont even do that well cause their agro tends to suck. Most of the time you dont want yoru pet when you are in areas where he might pull adds. So basically your job is to either pull or stay back and do ranged dmg.. which you'd want marksmanship for.

I've seen people who combine a few survival with either beast or marksmanship for good effect, but not anyone that did full marksmanship and got anything good from it.

However, besides from solo'ing, dont expect your pet to tank, they get killed in 2-3 hits from guys at higher lvls, even with improved armor and health
