Can anyone please tell me if engineering is a decent profession for Hunters? I am also wondering what weapon is better, Gun or Bow? Please help me out, thank you.

Before, Engineering was the most important profession for a Hunter to have. It was our basic survival since none of our "Survival" abilities did not really help us survive. Now that Hunters have kind of been "fixed" Engineering is not needed as much, but most of the Hunters that still use engineering like before the "fix" are extremely deadly.

Gun, Bow, and Xbow is something you want to keep capped at. Unless you are a Dwarf, all of the 3 ranged weapons are about equal. It really depends on what you is the best stats that you can get on a ranged weapon at your level that should guide you on what is better for you at your level. (If you are a Dwarf, it is best to use Guns as much as possible since you have a +5 to guns as a racial trait.) But just keep in mind that the Hunter epic weapon is a Bow... but unless you are in a high level and decent raid guild don't really count on getting it.

I use engineering to make guns and ammo. They help out alot and at later levels grenades become very useful although they are useful at low levels too.

Ok, I was an engineer on my old Hunter, it was great, making scopes, dynamite, and all the other handy little gadgets, (I espescially loved it when I found a recipe for a mechanical squirrel, therefore pet X 2, boy was that fun!) this increased damage output and whatnot, but the downside being, that you were going to be willing to sacrifice a fair bit of inventory space, sure there's the bank, but you would quite often find items in the wilderness that were needed, and I just found that everything became clogged up. Manage this factor to your own abilities.

im a hunter and an engineer and i believe that it is the best skill any hunter can have. and i believe that you can make a much better pet than a squirrel, like maybe a meck rapter i think and a big robot thing too.

Engineer = Bombs
Bombs = Good :D

The hunter has his pet to tank, yes? Well, the hunter sends his pet off to tank. Then, since your bombs do damage, you stand from afar, chucking bombs. Engineering is useful because you can break locks, make guns, make ammo, and, make money. A typical 250-300 engineering bomb costs less to make then sell, but, nobody bothers for a measly 10 silver per stack.

Ever done AV? Theres a really narrow bridge there, just big enough to be wholly affected by...a bomb. Run there, chuck a bomb, pow! You'll probably get around 1 or 2 kills.

Zomg! Theres a lock i can't open and theres no rogues handy! "Seathorium Charge". Pow. Lock gone.

My favorite thing about being a hunter/engineer is simply being able to make my own ammo. With a stack of rocks and a stack of bars, I can carry about 10-20 stacks of ammo with only 2 item slots. Its great on those long grinds/instances.
