Almost all jobs have a dress code, but some of the companies I want to work for dont really have the standard dress shirt and slacks policy. Being an animator usually gets you the ability to dress in jeans and a t-shirt. Just watch any behind the scenes videos of CGI movies and movies heavy in special effects

I think my co-workers would laugh at me pretty hard if I came to work dressed up in anything other than jeans and a t-shirt. I do graphic design work though.

jmd, what kind of animation work do you do?

I have been into 3D since MYST came out when I was in 5th grade. (I even got a Demo copy of Strata Studio 3D to practice with back then).

Ive been using Maya now for a few years as a hobby and im getting ready to leave my current job and move to Orlando for computer animation school there. /em drools over a job at ILM.

i do 3d animation in maya, 3d max and MotionBuilder. I am focusing on character animation with hopes of either doing it for film with Weta, ILM or anyone else. Or CGI at Blue Sky Studios.

Heres a link to one of my characters. I am in the process of refining the animation a little and compressing it for web. If anyone is intereseted let me know and ill link it to them. (This is still Wow related because the character is 3d and is an orc)

Thats awesome. I just started working on cars in 3d max latey. I am a better modeler in maya but at work all I have is 3dmax so I make do. I have an Impreza and a viper in the works. The viper i stopped working on because I wasn't likining where it was going and I decided to change. Im working with polys tho so it makes the modeling of something so smooth quite interesting
