Hey guys,
I have leveled a level 32 mage now and i am leveling him with AoE. I have searched some information about it and its a very good way to get lots of gold and experience. I will start with what you need for this guide, or how to start.
This guide is based on leveling a mage fast as possible with a large amount of gold around level 60.
Start with making a mage and level him to 28. I got a undead mage. I leveled him to level 28 just by quests. I didnt AoE'ed anything.
1.
Why at level 28? You get blizzard earlier.
I started on 28 because you have the basic skills that you need for leveling and you have the full basic talent spec. Your first trys can be very frustrating. Also its possible from level 22.
2.
What talents should i get?
The best for AoE is frost in my opinion. I got this talent spec on level 28:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=RZZMhMIsb
3.
What gear should i get? Around level 28 a had 6 gold. I went to the Auction House and searched for "of the Eagle" by Armor -> Cloth. I bought shoes, robe for level 27 and i had rare cloth shoulders dropped around level 25. I also found some nice bracers and legs the next day i checked the auction house.
4.
How do i AoE?
This is how i AoE.
1. Run through mobs.
2. Frost Nova
3. Blink if dazed.
4. Blizzard
5. Blizzard.
6. Cone of Cold. [Most mobs are dead]
7. Blizzard [Rest of the mobs are dead]
5.
So i got everything i need, a lvl 28 mage, talent spec, gear. Where do i start leveling now?
When i was level 28, i went to Duskwood. I got killed quite a lot there but one place there is named The Rotting Orchard. I had seen that place from a movie [The Art of Grinding -
www.warcraftmovies.com]. I tried some AoE'ing there after i solo killed the warlock mobs. It worked very well and it motivated me. When i dinged level 29 i farmed around 2.5g and i got a nice +int +sta ring dropped. So that would be a recommed place.
PS: When you are level 28: BE AROUND 2400 MANA AND 830 STAMINA. If this is not available buy more "eagle" gear and do a SFK run.
6.
Okay i am lvl 29 now what now?!
Farm another level in The Orchard in Duskwood. Money+Skills is needed on level 30.
7.
I am lvl 30 what now?
I had a nice routine in duskwood around level 30. Here is the image.
Sorry it was painted

Dont have photoshop installed yet.
8.
What to do the rest of the levels?
On level 30 i went to Tarren mill. I made it my heartstone and went to the yeti cave. All went very well. I readed in another topic the Azurelode Mine is a very nice spot too. I went to there and leveled there 2 levels. I am level 32 now and the AoE'ing is great. I am looking for some new spots.
9.
