Basically just go and sell something at the AH, but when you sell it put it as 1 silver below the cost.
E.G
Sell an 800g item for 799G and 99S
Surprisingly, people dont really care about the other 2 numbers, just the first number. I've done this quite a few times, guess its something in your brain that just shows you its cheaper than 800g when its really not >_> Dunno if this is omguseful but it you want that extra couple of gold, then there you go. Good for if your broke

I like to make an item have bid and not have a buyout price. Just make it a ridiculously low price for it, and make it Very Long. Some guy today just put on a Small Radiant Shard for 1s and today it was sold at 2g.

I never bid on those ones, if i don't see a buyout, then i don't bid, even if it is a purple for 1 Gold, i won't bid on it

i can never sell anything on the auction house, so i just sell it to a vendor before i lose gold for continuing to put the item up again.

putting an auction up for bid only is stupid, but i dont discourage people from doing it (i got 100 linen cloths for a total of 10 s, and got blush ember rings 4 of em for 1 g a peice, they sell for 10 g on my server)

You can make some extreme deals from bidding, like ekreloff stated, if you dont believe me, look at all the enchanting materials on the AH, when you put them into the AH they are 1s on bid, most people forget about the bid and just but buyout, so you could get 10 of the rarest types of enchant mats for a few G or even a few silver!

I could see this being useful for people that can wait or have patience (to bid on items which have no buyout) however I usually want it NOW!
I see no benefit as a seller to having no buyout. Sometimes I set up an auction with a high buyout and I notice it has sold sometimes within minutes! Why wait for the auction to finish? takes too long and you could end up getting alot less cause of people like me that have no patience.
However thanks for the post's now I know I can go around bidding rediculously low amounts for things I want and I might just get them!

You could get the auctioneer mod
It undercuts any bids aready on the AH and sets an average price on an item, if it has never been seen at auction. It can also scan for underpriced items that you can buy, then sell for more.
