Mounts and chickens- Please help! : World of Warcraft General Discussions

I know you have to be level 40 to get a mount and I know you can't get ones of the opposing faction and all that. What I wanted to know was I keep hearing rumors of "secret" mount dealers that sell to either faction (with different types of mounts).

"There are other mounts for sale in the world that any race can get but these NPCs are hard to find, and also require the players to acquire a certain amount of reputation with them before they will even sell these mounts."

Does anyone know anything about that? Or more importantly, where I can find them?

The thing about chickens I wanted to ask was if anyone knew how I could get a prarie chicken for a pet? Thanks!

dont know about the mounts i heard of that but havent seen it yet....but the chicken i do know. What i did was in westfall found a chicken and targeted it and kept typing in /chicken you might have to do this about 15-20 times then it will say that the chciken is looking at you or something like that wait for the sword to turn into a chat bubble and accept the quest then go to sadden farm and buy special chicken feed. go back to the chicken you were messing with eariler (you might be able to go to any chicken) target and type /cheer and wait for sword to turn into chat bubble complete quest and they will tell you to look under the chicken. open the chicken like you open a chest and then you will get a egg use this egg to summon the all power prairie chicken when ever you want to! You get to walk around with a cool looking metal chicken following you. NOw he doesnt fight or warn you when mobs are comming he kinda just stands there and looks cool

No, no, no, that's not really right. There are two chicken quests.

One is called CLUCK! and results in you getting a basic chicken that you can summon like any other pet.

The second chicken is the reward for completing three escort quests. Search thottbot for "OOX" and you'll see the three in different zones, Ferelas, Tanaris, Hinterlands. The reward for completing all three is the mechanical chicken. You get the quests by looting some little homing beacon device off mobs in the respective zones.

I certainly don't know of any dealers that will sell to both factions, but there are some mount dealers that require reputation as stated above.

At the moment I only know of extra alliance mounts...

In Winterspring, you can get faction with the <Wintersaber Trainers> (theres a guy called Rivern Frostwind who gives out quests, one of which become repeatable) but you have to grind faction all the way to exhaulted I believe.
At this point you'll become able to buy "Reins of the Winterspring Frostsaber" , but you can only ride it if you also have the saber riding/tiger riding skill (basically the one night elves get to ride their sabers... Im not so sure on the name myself, but if you're not a night elf, you have to get to exhaulted with darnassus aswell)

"Reins of the Bengal Tiger" and "Reins of the Leopard" are also reputed to be out there somewhere (again, with saber/tiger riding as a needed skill for use)


I'm of the belief that eventually the horde <Ravasaur Trainers> in Un'goro will eventually get a similar quest/rep series to the Winterspring one... but if they shall, its not there yet ^^


On the PvP side, inside alterac there are meant to be a couple of mounts... presumably with astoundingly high rep requirements ^^
(Those being the Stormpike Battle Charger and the Frostwolf Howler for alliance and horde respectively)


The only mount I know to be ridable by both factions is Rivendare's Deathcharger ("Deathcharger's Reins" ... a very rare drop from Rivendare)

Dont remember exactly but you can get special mounts if you have your reputation higher than honored

Each city has something special linked to it, like special recipes, mounts, and so forth

Reputation :
Unfriendly->Neutral->Friendly->Honored->Revered(Dont know the exact word or spelling - forgot (no sleep)) -> One more (lets call it Town Suckups)

Also, when you reach a certain Honor rrank, you are able to buy a special mount

Yeah you can get other factions mounts if you are Exhalted with them. So say if your and Orc and you get exhalted with the Undercity you could but an undead mount.
