Well I think I may have a solution to this problem. This is my idea for PvP and please give as much constructive criticism as you like.
First of all, I think to make PvP success in a game it has to be everywhere. There is no option in real life if someone is going to kill you so why should there be in an mmorpg. Some people may not like the idea that anyone can come up and kill you at any point in the game, but there is a solution to people not doing it.
Reputation
Reputation will be the downfall. There are 4 levels of reputation. Red- You killed someone with a 0 reputation. If someone kills you now, you will loose exp and chance of dropping an item. Orange- You killed someone who was yellow or your reputation is dropping from killing someone who had a reputation of 0. If someone kills you, you will have a small exp lose. Yellow- You killed someone who was green or your reputation is dropping. If someone kills you, you will have a small exp lose. Green- You were attacked and killed who attacked you (inless they were red.) Or you attacked someone, but did not kill them.
You can kill anyone of the same color or higher and your reputation will not increase. You could also have ways of having reputation drop faster then its regular rate. By killing mobs or doing quests.
Faction PvP
All other races will have a reputation to start off against your certain race. If the race is in your faction there will be a decrease in killing them. If you kill someone who has a 0 reputation(white) and they are a different race you will only turn orange instead of red. And if they are in the other faction, then you get no reputation. This makes it so it feels like you are in a war and against the other faction. If you kill someone in your own race then its normal PvP and you get the reputation downfall.
PvP is very important in MMORPGS and even more important in a game called world of WARcraft. WAR is the basis of this game, so why wouldn’t you have a strong PvP part of it. Once again please give your opinion to this idea and tell me if you think you like it.
