Pallies have contained buffs which can be cast individually or by class type. Dont want rogues pulling aggro? Well cast Blessing of Salvation on the class. Now! Before people start flaming that shaman's have this to, remember it was only introduced RECENTLY as the tranquility totem, which was then bugged and only fixed even MORE recently. Now still, remember that this is only castable on the party! ie. you would effectively have to have a shaman in every single rogue group to share these buffs it can supply, but how many buffs can it give? only 1 per totem class. Lets say you have 4 pallies in a raid, they can effectively buff the whole raid and not just the groups they are in. The buff also LASTS longer, and the aura from a paladin is effectively the same as a totem being placed except its permanent and lasts as long as the paladin lives, easily switchible with no cast time, no mana, and no effort at all. gg pallies.
When it comes to pvp, sure a shaman gets the advantage through buffs, but lets not forget that shamans are just as effective as paladins when it comes to burst dps. Does judging have diminishing effects? well shocks do! Mail vs Plate? Kiting vs Stun?
You hate because you love.

Judging has no diminishing effects. A paladin can beat a shaman, no matter what spec, if played correctly with both characters having equipment on par with each other. Sure, a shammy can hit more than once in a round, but if you know how to play the PvP build, a pally can hit six times off one attack. I know few paladins left that play this way, and we keep our ways to our selves to avoid nerf bat. I deffinately favor proper paladin over shaman. Pally also has two guranteed heals off each shield, and LoH if they don't waste it often... A shaman can heal, but an engineer pally can throw a disorient bomb, followed by stun, to effectively shut down the heals, often long enough to outright kill the shaman. It's all about knowing the class, and in PvP, pally is the best...
Don't get me wrong, I can smoke pallies on my shaman in PvP if they have no idea what they're doing, but my pally has lost fights to three shamans out of 10,430 kills.. so I don't think shammies beat me easily... Infact, I only lose when the shaman has a few trump cards such as heal pots or flasks boosting stats. Everyone has their own oppinions though, and mine will always favor the paladin... unless shammies get a mega uber buffed set of spells 10x better than pally set in the lvl 70 release.
