i think the biggest trick is that they have people working shifts leveling your character, so at any given time your character is being leveled, they dont sleep unlike you, they dont run errands like you, etc..

they probably have a database of mobs levels, locations, respawn rates and the average xp they'll give to each level. with enough people working on it, such a database wouldn't take too long to compile
then whenever they're hired to powerlevel they look through the database to find which area will be the best to grind, checking for an xp gain/speed of kill ratio and preferably with a fast respawn rate. then they march your character over there and grind like nobody's business. I would also assume they'd have a list of quests with a high xp gain. all the "go talk to this person" quests for example. you can do them when they're still red in your quest log and get quite a bit of xp for them that way

If you wanna find out for sure, just get a second account, pay them to level it, then follow them around with your other account
It's really likely just hardcore grinding - killing a group of mobs over and over and over until they move to the next area. That's the way the chinese farmer accounts are leveled, and many of those same people are likely powerleveling accounts.

it's a group of chineese people working around the clock. not intending to be at all racist, but most powerleveling and currency exchange sites are in china.

they have little gnomes that work for them and they enslave them and force them to level your character 24/7 killing the same stuff over and over. Then they keep the loot for themselves. and whenever they refuse, they kill a kitten! Dont use powerleveling services... think of the kittens!

just get two lvl 60 healer friends and go kill mobs 10 lvls above you while your friends heal you out..
also they can "clean up" high lvl instances so you can just go and pick up quest items.
I did this with my guild friends and you lvl up like crazy =]

lol wow my friend's profession is a powerleveler... its weird how so many ppl get powerleveled... ok the secret to this is just plain quest and grind... btw its impossible to get from 51-52 in an hour... it takes about 6 hours... they have no spececial database either they are just ragular people(usually chinese) who play... on my firends company they have 2 ppl play for 12 hours at a time... yup so anone can do it and its really easy. ppl just think its hard because its really boring... there are no mages/healers also they just grind regular mobs alone

i bought my friends epic 60 druid for 150 bucks... 2 days of work for me to get 150$... 1 year of work for him to make the druid... i figure thats a pretty good deal for me now i get to experience that side of wow, along with my 60 priest. Is that cheaper than hiring 2 chinamen to follow you around for a month?
by the way, i have played wow for a year, no buying of anything but 500gold for my epic mount one time... so i did experience the game how it was meant to be played, jsut now i get to try it as a raiding druid for fun
