Spawn Spots of Ghost mushrooms : World of Warcraft General Discussions

Ghost mushrooms are rather popular and expensive herb used for several alchemy recipes. Those recipes include Limited Invulnerability potions which are used on end-game instances. They are used for Elixir of Demonslaying too, for those hunters doing their Rhok'delar quest.

So where are they located? For instances, they are located inside Maraudon, around 1 or 2 per each side (Purple and Orange), and sometimes before you enter either instance entrance. If you are level 60, you won't have problems with aggro usually, and you can walk safely from a little distance on the mobs inside.

There are also a few found in the Dire Maul - East instance. If you're a rogue/can stealth, you can probably stealth through the instance and snag them mushrooms that are out of mob aggro range. Or you can just get them normally with a Dire Maul - East group (provided you are the only herbalist in the group).

Outside of the instances, there are a couple found in the cave (where the Ancient Egg is at) high atop Jintha'Alor in the Hinterlands. The place is filled with elite lv47+ mobs, so be careful here, or you can bring along a friend to help clear some mobs.

For the easiest spot to farm, its in Skulk Rock cave in the Hinterlands. There are 3 ghost mushroom spawns there, and the cave has only non-elite lv49-50 slimes, so clearing won't be a problem. Get the 3 spawns, do something else, then return after a few minutes to wait for their respawns.

These ghost mushrooms only have a few spawn points, and you can only get 1 mushroom per picking, so its usually expensive, around 1g per mushroom or so depending on your server.
