Warsong Gulch and Class Roles : World of Warcraft General Discussions

Warsong Gulch, having the lowest level requirement of all the Battlegrounds, is often a player's first experience with PvP combat. Being capture the flag, it also has its own nuances beyond that of simple combat. Teamwork, in this case, is more important than outright skill. However, as relatively new players are entering the arena (at least in the beginning) it is often difficult for one to even know where to start. Specifically, knowing what you and your class' main job is in a capture the flag battle can be difficult to decipher. And even if you have a vague idea, often it changes with each concurrent level group. For a new player, this can be quite overwhelming. I know, with my level 19 hunter, I certainly haven't the foggiest idea of what my role would be in a CTF match.

So since this is the discussion forum, I will end with the following questions/topic: Which strategies do you recommend for each class? What general tips are there for new WG players? And even, which classes are your favorite to play?

Haha yeah that seems to happen...how unconvenient. I suppose its supposed to be incentive to get a premium membership or some crazy idea like that.

I play a 29 Rogue, 60 Hunter, 60 Warrior, and a 29 Warrior. My experiences with WSG are nothing fancy because the alliance on my server has an average age of 12... So the most I can do is try and get as many honor kills off the horde as possible while my alliance friends play the well known strategy. "Guard the Flag." Blizzard Really needs to put of free realm transfers, because If I have to keep my warriors on the same server I just might go crazy. It's like a kindergarden.

I love my warrior in WSG. Even at lvl 30 i could take down 37's. I have noticed in wsg that if you play def and guard you your flag you will lose.

Pssh I don't like the low level (10-19) WSG because what the other faction does on my server is they make level 19 rogues or other classes and give them souped up weapons with insane enchants only a 60 could afford. This is really !@#$%^&* so I never play low level BGS.

Lol @ the twink comment. Theres a guild on Laughing Skull, Stubber Twinks, little 19 rogue with 2 +15 agi daggers, a crusader dagger and sword, and a bunch of just plain stupid items w/ no req lvl from high lvl areas.. (These have been changed and can't be worn by the lil mustard anymore, yay blizz...) Sigh...

Btw, theres a horde High Warlord thats lvl 37 on Laughing skull... whats up with that? It won't take me to knight, yet I've got a full bar to next rank, its been fulland I've earned over 64k honor points in past week, still, nothing... ^^

Yeah, one of my friends on my warrior's server has a 19 warrior with Smite's Hammer and 6-8 blues gear... and he got crusaider enchanted on his hammer. It sometimes makes me wonder what the people do with their money if it's not going to their lvl 60. I guess I know now.
