M4G: What kinds of emotions and mindset were you inspired by when you were given the assignment to score the expansion pack, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade? WOW is one of the most popular game titles with a fan base of 8 million players. Any pressure…excitement? What were your initial thoughts and what would be your most important goals, challenges and strategies?
Russell Brower: I think we put a healthy amount of pressure on ourselves to maintain quality, increase immersion, stay true to the heart and soul of the game, and yet explore as much new territory as the expansion set itself does. We set about to dramatically increase the amount of live performance content, as well as the sheer scope and amount of music in the game.
