HAVING PING PROB? : Aion - Submissions

SMOOTHPING!

1. you need to sign up and its for free ^^
2. you need to donwload it
3. then when you go in this site scroll down you will see the PING test and choose the ping that its capable in your IP.
4.Fallow the instruction in the site:
PuTTY
Open PuTTY and you will see a list of all of the SmoothPing servers. Select the Server that you wish to connect to and Click Load. Note: If the SmoothPing Servers list does not show for you, you may need to click the "Sessions from File" checkbox and you should then see all the SmoothPing Servers.

Pick your server from the list of servers (as SmoothPing grows the list increases, so you will have more servers in your list than this screenshot) and then click okay


Enter your SmoothPing login and password. The very first time you connect to each SmoothPing Server, PuTTY will present a security warning (picture below) asking if you are sure you wish to connect to this server. Just select YES. Now you will be connected to the server that you selected and you should see our welcome message. You can minimize PuTTY now, and it will go to the System Tray.

Security warning that opens the first time connected. Don't be alarmed, all SmoothPing server are 100% secure.


Login to PuTTY. As you can see no password appears visually for security (although it is actually being entered - this often confuses first-time users of PuTTY). Hit ENTER on your keyboard, and PuTTY will login.


Success!


Now just open up Aion, and you should be connected using SmoothPing!

Tips
To see your current ping in Aion, just type /ping

Try giving a few of our servers from around the US to see what one give you the best ping.

Troubleshooting
Your ping has not changed or you are unsure if you have configured everything correctly.
There is a very easy way to test that the SmoothPing service is working properly.

Firstly, connect to SmoothPing via PuTTY by entering your SmoothPing login and password. Next, launch, and log in to Aion Now, right click on the PuTTY Icon in your System Tray, and select EXIT. Say YES, you are sure you wish to quit PuTTY. You should now be disconnected from Aion. This confirms you have correctly set up the SmoothPing Service.

Sounds like a big scamming website, whenever you log-in the game, the website keylogs your account details and sombody gets the benefit of a "free" account.

There's no way to "Smooth your ping" unless you move near the server, or have a faster/better ISP.

Well yes and no. I dont know if this site is a scam or not but when it come sto ping there are diff variables.

One is computer speed. Lets say you have a decent connection cable modem in the usa that needs to travel to europe. Well for your computer to ping europe it might take like 5ms. If you have a 3rd party with an oc3 connection. You can hit them in 1ms and they might take 3 ms to get to that place and back to you. So you save in the long run. These sites do actually work for a lot of people because of the speed of them. But yes there are a lot of them that are scams.
