Splitpaw will not be going down for an update as previous stated.  The eq2 staff apologizes for any confusion this may have caused people.

StarCraft 2 Helps Save The PC Industries Slow Sales

Sales for starcraft 2 have helped perked up the overall sales for the pc gaming market when they had a slump.  Many people are curious why pc game sales have been dropping while console sales have been rising.  A major factor is its far more profitable to make console games than pc games due to the amount of piracy involved.  Anyone that loves pc games should actually buy games instead of pirating them to help sales.  Also halo reach is expected to bring console sales back up to surpass pc sales with it giant release.

StarCraft 2 Re-Benchmarked

Starcraft has undergone some major changes to help make it more playable for lower end pcs.  In doing so toms hardware has decided to do a major check on the new speeds for starcraft 2 and not just the old speed when running starcraft 2 beta client.

They also tested the game on different hardware machines to help give you a better look at the game.  They used the new catalyst 10.7 beta drivers when they did testing.  Read more below.

Star Trek Online Fixing The Top 3 Major Complaints

Star trek online is trying to help save itself from closure by some peoples minds.  The game still has a decent subscriber base and they are doing now weekly episodes to give players more to play with.  The three major issues in the game where talked abou tin depth.

– The microtransaction shop’s major ships they are working to be found in game as well so you are not forced to purchase them.

– The ground combat in the game will be improved as its rather lackluster.

– The klingons factions will get more content as they are pretty barren.

This is a giant leap forward for the game as they where lacking a ton originally.

World of Warcraft Battle for Gilneas Battleground – Preview

Here is a great article about the battle for gilneas.  This is a new battleground for players at level 85.  Its much like arathi basin in terms that you must have teams to help you accumulate resources.  The map is 10v10 and you need 2000 resources to win a match.
The battle starts with each team at their default graveyards.  When the match begins you will fight for 3 main areas and gain points.  Also there will be special chokepoints to make the battleground all the harder
The maps center will have a overlook which are hills that create narrow areas for intense fights between opponents.

You will have 3 resource areas avabiale or both the horde and alliane to fight for.  They are the mines, the lighthouse, and the waterworks.  If you own this area you will have access to the nearby graveyards as well.

Starcraft 2 Bannigns To Start For Cheaters

Blizzard has finally announced a major ban wave thats going to take place for all players caught cheating in starcraft 2.  This is to stop anyone using cheats, hacks, exploits, or 3rd party software to help them gain an unfair advantage over other players.  While its know warden is being used in starcrtat 2 there has been little to any activity of it actually being used in the game.  Remember that if you are banned you loose access to your battle.net account.

WoW Insider Major Contest In Celebration Of The Site Move
