we pay to play because wow is a great game and being able to go home to play it is a great feeling because blizzard put so much time and effort into it and it payed off thats why millions of people pay to play it.

I've got to agree me, WoW can be pretty much a boring game, cuz it's all about quest, you do nothing but questing all time, and If you grind, you're missing the quest items, wich prolly you can only use a couple of levels higher then you are, cuz u arent capable of wearing that type of armor, for me its useless...
WoW has a great gameplay, however, graphics and that much of a great deal.

The thing is that wow isnt all about questing and grinding.
There are intensive PvP servers where you are able to kill the other faction, in nearly every area of the large world of Aseroth. Or RP servers if you like to roleplay your character.
In WoW you are able to join guilds, private chat with new friends and take a trip to a instance(dungon) and fight side by side with them.
The fee that you pay, goes to the updating and hard work that blizzard puts in to keep wow interesting for as many ppl as posible. Take this into consideration. How much do you pay when you go to mc d, or take a girl out for dinner and a movie(Ouch!!!). Spread that out over two months and then tell me that wow is expensive and dating is not.
There is always new weapons under development and you will soon be able to level your character up to lvl 80. Blizzard garentees you a minimum of 400hours of gameplay(considering you like the game). A non-mmorpg, comes nowhere near that, in my oppinion.
The grafic are very good. If you are a warcraf 1,2 and 3 fan you can see that blizzard has taken the grafic, from theyr older games and kept what ppl love.
Plus in wow there is near no loading time. It takes me about 10 sec to log in and play the game. The only loading time is when you go inside an instance and when you load the game. Both have only around 5 sec loading time. Check out guildwars, loadingtime is almost the only thing you do.
hope this helped

I agree with that comparation with guildwars, loading times are awfull in GW, but i still prefer it's ggraphics or even RF Online graphics to WoW's, but you gave me enough reasons to try a private server, and then I might consider playing the oficial =)

I have an idea, if you can't afford it, don't play it. If you want something to do once you get home from work, or after school once you have finished your homework, then WoW is a great game, $15 isn't much every month, if I still played my Xbox I would be spending upwards about $50-$60 on new games, now that I sold my Xbox and all the games, I have noticed how much more money I have left over because im only spending $15 every month. And to those of you telling us that WoW has no point, and that you do quests to get items that you will replace in a few levels, think about playing your Xbox or PS3, you get a game, beat it in a few hours, and guess what? you just spent 40 bucks on a game that is now worthless, sure you can play it over again, but will it be as fun as the first time you played it? the answer is no, now its time to go out the next day and spend 40 bucks on another game that will soon be worthless. If you think WoW is just quests and leveling....then you have obviously not played it, or have not played it long enough to actually notice that there is raids, instances, huge range of pvp, twinking, etc. I don't need to go any further.
and chotaz, try to refrain from private server talk.
