found this image on digg.com as one of the top dugg storys recently.

text from the story "The linked screenshot provides proof that WoW developer Blizzard is actively scanning players' browsing history and cookies. Early speculation is that this is a countermeasure against cheaters, but players are arguing that Blizzard has no right to access this highly private data."

The dude that posted that on digg is stupid and has no idea how windows works. ANY program that uses internal windows controls for html, css, or XML (IE LUA) will have that file open. Its not wow that has it open. Its the shared internet web browsing dll that has it open. This file shows as open for any program that uses the internet through microsofts dlls. I see no functions in wow that actively read or write to this file. I hate people that spread misinformation to get others all fired up about things they know nothing about.

i was testing it with the newest version of IE7. and i was browsing through some forums here and then the same forums in FF. after about 30 seconds of testing, IE was appearing to go noticably faster. I am using fasterfox on FF if your wondering.

it was a very crude expirement, and is probably error ridden. maybe one day ill do a real test.

I was a long time user of FF and really liked it. But IE7 has made some major improvements, the 2 most important things to me: tabs, and it's a LOT faster than FF.

IE7 does not make it easy to bring in the bookmarks from FF though, that's not a good thing. Well, at least *I* haven't been able to figure out how to do it easily.

everyone, try Opera 9.2, it pawns FF and IE7, 90% of the impriovements in IE anf FF are originally from opera
