With 6 bedrooms, a spa and pool? Doubt the banks are gunna give you a loan when you write down `Primary income : Everquest (or what ever)' Still each to their own.. I'd prefer to continue earning my solid 100k+ a year doing a job... and buying a house worth 500k that I can actually live in... *shrug* You must not know the value of money or you live in a trailer park. 100k will not buy you any mansion where I live. You have to spend around 400K. I did have another job at the time, so my main income was not just SWG.

That's not cheat but it does waste money. Try this: Make a char and leave them in the auction house and mail the items you want to sell to that char. Let that char be your banker and auctioneer. I have 3 chars and none of them have a problem with having money to train with or buy some items I need.

Sacrasm is hard to judge when typing. I'm sure if I was talking to him in person and could see if he were a kid or an adult I would be able to judge it as sacrasm.

Ok so the demand is there for people to buy online items, this is known. So if the demand on them is there, the people that sell them should not get ridiculed. They know the risk that they are taking by doing so, be that being banned or even having legal action taken against them. I'm not saying that I do this or condone it, but do not try to belittle someone that does by saying they are "motherf-ckers". If anything tell those that are buying such things to stop. That is what I find amazing is that the demand for "fake" items exists. IT IS ONLY A GAME. But if the demand is there you cannot blame someone for capitalizing on it. They know the risks.

Psalm, I'm with you. I have the duboius honor of mostly ruining the ebay market for one of the Ultima Online servers. Had 50+ accounts all macroed to mine & pickup smith orders 24/7. Mind you, I didn't have quite the succes you did, but it sounds like you really found a sweet spot at a sweet time. Nothing wrong with selling things online, to other people, folks. And either way, lets try to keep it civil =p

psalm23 (!empty($user->lang['WROTE'])) ? $user->lang['WROTE'] : ucwords(strtolower(str_replace('_', ' ', 'WROTE'))): I don't think copyright is the problem here I think it's the selling of intellectual property.
in 2003 I made close to 100K in selling SWG credits. I did report my earning to the IRS and had to pay around 9K in taxes. Sony has yet to contact me or send me an emails on this. I have had a couple of account banned because I was getting sloppy in the way I was trading the credits near the end. All the credits I had in the game were duped.
So think about this, if you knew a dupe in WoW and could make 100K of real money in a four month time would you tell blizzard and get a pat on the back or would you dupe you heart out and buy a new house like I did? Four months time? You realize that averages out to somewhere around $800/day of people buying star wars credits. How many credits were you selling for what price? Say you were selling 1 million credits for $100. How did you dupe one billion credits in four months without Sony noticing a huge rise in the number of credits on their servers? That was just an example, I don't know what the selling price for credits were at the time you were doing this. I do think I remember 1 million going for somewhere around $50 at one time though. Please do the math for me. Give me your average price for credits so I can figure out how many credits you had to dupe. How did you work a full-time job while you were duping all of these credits? What city/state do you live in? I would like to look up property values if you don't mind. You must have a great second job for the bank to loan you $300,000 for a house. You're probably a doctor or a lawyer do get a loan like that. I recently inherited about $100,000 from my grandmother. I have no plans to buy a house anywhere near $100,000...much less $400,000. That inheritance is a one-time windfall, I wouldn't be able to pay my property taxes if I just threw it all into one big house. I figure that if it were true that you made $100,000 you can't count on doing that over and over with any consistency. How do you plan on paying for your property taxes, and the no doubt high electric bills and water bills of a house with that much square footage. Are you a seller of duped credits? Sure, I believe that. But you are also a bit delusional as well.

Give me your average price for credits so I can figure out how many credits you had to dupe.
How did you work a full-time job while you were duping all of these credits? I had a job where I made my own hours. It was in sales and I did quite well.
What city/state do you live in? I would like to look up property values if you don't mind. I live in the midwest in a town around the size of say 80,000.
You must have a great second job for the bank to loan you $300,000 for a house. You're probably a doctor or a lawyer do get a loan like that. Why would the bank loan me 300k? My house cost around 100K and if I had 100K plus the sale of the house I had owned before I really wouldn't need a loan now would I? I knew this wasn't going to be a long time thing so I lived within my means. Taxes are around 4K
How do you plan on paying for your property taxes, and the no doubt high electric bills and water bills of a house with that much square footage. where did I say I bought a 300K house?
Are you a seller of duped credits? Sure, I believe that. But you are also a bit delusional as well. Of course they were duped. I had 4 accounts and 3 of them had 8 servers with close to 1 billion credits on each one. So that is around say 23 billion credits to sell. I sold for $6 / million. Which would be around $138,000 but with fees from ebay, paypal and the IRS and my last account getting banned with 500 mil on it. I made roughly 100K give or take a $1000.
Couple more thing. I stopped selling credits in Feburary and my main account was banned in June of that year for duping. I got an email from Bruce Economy stating that my main account was banned, but after a week of emails my main account was given back to me.
As for how they didn't notice the rise in the amount of credits my chars had I have no clue. I would transfer the money from account to the other. After I would send someone the credits I would delete the char. After a while I got lazy and just sent the credits from the account I used to dupe with and about 2 weeks later those accounts were banned for duping, but like I said I only had around 500 mil left so it was no big deal. Bruce knew exactly how I duped and what I did, but because I kept changing IP addresses I was able to blame it on someone else using my account.
Any more question?
