The US Servers will be down at seven am on septh 14th for a major hotfix. The servers will only be down for about an hour while they are being updated.

Cryptic is once again doing a podcast contest. Basically you will get to ask them some question. Just go to the contest thread and post at least 4 questions about the game. You have to post in the quantum online community for this to count. The main point if this contest is to help get more players posting on the sto forums we believe. The big thing is you are entered in a contest for just posting and tons of great rewards to be had for winning the random lottery. However i hope some people post why has sto lost their way when it comes to fixing the major bugs out there. If they have a plan to get back the already majority of players that left due to horrible management, and when we can expect to have all the perks promised to us when the game originally was announced.

WoW.com announced a crazy new update. They have decided to move back to the old site joystick.com this is believed to be in terms to help the overall company but someone apparently knows littl eto nothing about seo. Having wow in your sites name is going to be far more useful than having joystick.com/wow/xxx. WoW.com admins probably think if they have everything at one site its going to help them make more money with advertising but they could not be further from the truth. Yes joystick might be going downhill in users and the majority of wow players are techies, but making wow players go to joystick to get more users is going to hinder not help. Most of the best sites out there are actually catered to multiple people and not just one person. So heres to hoping the best for wow.com but expecting them to suffer a ton from this move.

World of Warcraft cataclysm apparently had a giant bit of information released to the folks over at MMO-Champion. According to an inside source with the game they are going to be releasing the game on Nov 2. 2010. Now this is not 100% set in stone but mmo champion has been pretty on the spot when it comes to leaks on the beta. Also blizzard may push this date back due to refining of the game before its official release, hence why not exact date has been given for the game. Well we know the game will be released in 2010 just the exact date is still a mystery but this brings us a little bit closer.

World of Warcraft patch 4.0.1 is now officially on the test realms for the live servers. Basically they have all the wow cataclysm updates in there without any of the wow cataclysm stuff. So if you arent in cataclysm you can still check out the upcoming patches. The major changes are here to a degree but they may or may not give the major changes most players want to see in the game. For players that want to see the major updates you are going to have to be playing wow cataclysm and play in the beta to see all the major updates going on. Well here are a few of the major updates going to be released with the game.
Classes: General
Many class talents, spells, and abilities have been overhauled, added, or removed.
 Death Knight
- A dedicated tanking tree (Blood) has been implemented.
- The effects of Blood Presence and Frost Presence have been exchanged.
- The way in which runes recharge has changed.
 Druid
- A new Eclipse mechanic has been added for druids.
 Hunter
- Five pets can now be stored with the hunter at all times. Any one of these five pets can be summoned via the Call Pet ability.
- Focus has replaced mana as a new resource.
- Hunters now start with a pet at level 1.
- The Stable will now store 20 pets. If a pet is moved into the Stable, its talents are wiped.
 Mage
- There is now a new spell fly-out UI feature for mage portals. Clicking on the Teleport or Portal buttons will expand the list of choices available.
 Paladin
- Paladins now have a new resource bar.
 Warlock
- There is now a new spell fly-out UI feature for warlock pets. Clicking on this single button will open up the list of available pets to summon.
- Soul Shards have been removed from the game as items. Instead, they now exist as a resource system necessary for using, or altering the mechanics of certain spells.
Items
- Resilience no longer reduces the chance a player will be critically hit by an opponent.
- Durability: cloth, leather, and mail now have as many points of durability as plate, making the repair cost on death much closer to equal for all classes.
Professions
- The glyph system has been updated to now feature three different types of glyphs. Many class glyphs have been added, altered, or moved to different glyph types.
User Interface
- Spell Alerts have been added to notify players when procs on select spells and abilities occur. A visual notification will display around the character and the activated ability will be highlighted on the action bar.
- The Arena Teams pane has been improved.
- The Character pane has been redesigned. Character stats can now be shown or hidden via the Show All Details/Hide All Details button on the bottom left. When shown, all character stats will be visible in a window to the right of the pane. Stat sections can be reorganized by clicking and dragging them up or down the pane.
- The Professions panes now have more filtering and search functionality, as well as buttons to easily link recipes in the chat frame.
- A Professions screen has been added to the Spellbook to better display the details of a character’s primary and secondary professions.
- Many of the yellow System Messages that would display in the chat frame when leveling up have been removed.
- New text animations now alert players as they level up, also providing information on when new talents, spells and abilities are available.
- Professions and Class Trainers windows have been altered to more clearly display available and upcoming purchases.
- New Raid frames are now. They can also be used in place of the standard 5-player party interface via the User Interface options.
- The Spellbook interface has been improved for greater ease-of-use and visual appeal.

Lineage 2 made a giant annoucement that the NA and EU servers are merging to just one per region. This means 2 things. First of all all you people still playing are going to have a giant new server to enjoy with tons of new people. The bad part is this means that lineage 2 is slowly going the way of most MMOs and its dying to a degree. If NCSoft did a few lawsuits to shut down private servers it might help the cause but thats about it.
The us servers seem to have five total and eu seem to have 3 total. This is going to be down to two at the end of the month. If you want also you can help pick a new server name. Some big things with the server faq is if you are under level 20 and havent logged into the servers in a year you will be deleted and you can only have a total of seven characters total so if you have more than that you should start deleting toons.
Massively
The newest cataclysm beta build is now official available to everyone. The big thing in this update is the restoration for shamans. The build also has a few other tweaks for players talents and spells. Some things are being changed in power and some are just being renamed. However the big one is the shamans. Check out more below.

A new offline mode bug has been announced by blizzard. This bug happens to players will the offline mod and you will get an error stating offline play authorization required. This will force you to go online and then offline in order to fix this bug. They are away of the bug and are working on a fix to help all players enjoy the game. The games offline mode is only suppose to be available for 30 days after you activate your in game client, but blizzard may extend this due to the problems multiple users are having.

Blizzard today announced that players will need to purchase a flight masters lincense in the game if they want to fly on kalimdor and the eastern kingdom continents for world of warcraft cataclysm. The cost of the licnese is going to be 250 gold pieces which isnt that hard to come by this late into the game. Also you can fly in the new 80-85 level zones in the game. This license will be trainable for all players at level 60.

The newest wow beta build is upon us and a ton of new things have been added. Some big ones are the tier 11 bonuses, the palande and warrior changes. New titles, maelstrom map and more. This current patch goes by the name of fluffy in the game. This new build no one is quite sure if its going to be pushed in the beta realms or if its just getting ready for the official release. Fans have been in uproar about cryptics lack of updating for the star trek game client. The game still has horrible ground combot. The space missions are far to repetitive, and the game engine overall is just junk currently. Many gamers felt that this was just temporary and if they sticked around for a good 6 months things would get better. Cryptic has been tellingpeople they would to. Well its 6 months later and the game seems to be improving but is it to little to late. Many gamers are leaving the game and it seems going the way of many failed MMOs

Cataclysm New concept art and tier 11 shown off. This giant update shows players the newest concept art for world of warcraft cataclysm. Blizzard has just announced the newest starcraft 2 3v3 custom map. The maps name is burning tide and it has the same mechanics as the devils playground. So you will not only be fighting other players but you have to defend yourself against a rising lava flow that can kill units and structures.
